CHANGE TO CALENDAR: There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, November 11th due to faculty/staff benefits meeting at Tipton. Please read enclosed explanation from our interim superintendent, Ms. Fuemmeler.

HELP NEEDED! We are in need of a few volunteers to create the framework for the backdrop of our Christmas musical. It would just be putting some 2 X 4’s together. If you could help out with construction or lumber, please contact Mrs. Werdehausen as soon as possible. Thank you!

GHOSTY GRAMS! It’s not too late! We will be taking ghosty gram orders until October 28th. They are 50 cents each.

CLASSROOM PARENTS: We are counting on you to plan activities and refreshments for the Halloween parties. Thanks so much for your help in making our parties so much fun!

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES: Please – no scary or gory costumes for our Halloween Walk/parties. No ghosts, devils, witches, zombies, etc. Let’s keep our celebration lighthearted! We do not want to scare our little people! Students will begin changing for the parade at 1:15. Parents may arrive @ 1:15 to help.

GUN RAFFLE WINNERS – Congratulations to Devin Hagerman and Russell Kever, winners of the September drawings, and to Carolyn Koetting and Steve Jaegers, winners of the October drawings.

2020 ALL SCHOOL RAFFLE: New prizes featured for those who do not hunt. Tickets are now available for sale for $50 each. Two winning tickets are drawn each month, for a total of 24 prizes awarded. If you would like to purchase or sell tickets, please contact Greg Koetting, Cindy McKenna or Josh Vandike. We do have individual tickets for sale at Mary’s Home Bank and the school office. For a list of prizes/explanation see the reverse of these notes.

LIGHTING OF THE CEMETERY THIS WEEK: OLOS students will be participating in the Litany of the Saints procession & the lighting of the cemetery again this year. The morning of Thursday, October 31st, the students, staff, & community will gather at 8:45 am to recite the Litany and place over 1000 lights on the graves. This activity is tied to a tradition, originating in Germany, where people lit candles and placed them on the graves of their loved ones, letting them burn throughout the night before All Saints, representing the “light of the holy souls”. All are invited to participate.
BOX TOPS/BEST CHOICE: Please turn in your Box Tops for Education & any Best Choice UPC’s you may have saved, as we will be making a submission this month for reimbursement. Thanks to Joan Doerhoff, for taking care of this program.
