Friday            May “Dress Down Day”, Last day of school for 8th graders!

REGISTRATION PACKETS FOR THE 2013-14 SCHOOL YEAR WERE SENT HOME TWO WEEKS AGO THEY ARE NOW DUE. Please fill these out and return no later than Monday, April 29, 2013. If you notice any forms missing, please contact someone in the office for additional copies.

Reminder to all parents: ALL SCHOOL FEES must be paid in full by the end of the year in order for your child to receive his/her final grade cards and diplomas/release of records (8th graders). School fees may include any of the following:  book, technology, van, lunch, extended care, preschool, unreturned library books, unreturned uniforms, damaged or lost textbooks, and others as deemed necessary. This would be a good time for you to also take a closer look at your school support through tithing to the parish. If you have unpaid fees, final payment notices are in today’s folder for families with 8th graders and will be in next week’s folder for all other school families. PLEASE SEND ALL REMAINING PAYMENTS THROUGH THE SCHOOL OFFICE SO THAT YOUR ACCOUNT MAY BE CLEARED HERE FOR THE RELEASE OF GRADECARDS/DIPLOMAS/RECORDS.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD LITTLE JACE LAGE! Jace is the new little brother of Trenton Lage, who is in the OLOS Preschool class. Trenton is proud of the new arrival – who weighed 7 lbs, 3 oz, and was born on Monday. Along with Trenton, we congratulate proud parents, Josh & Shannon & brother Tanner.

8th grade parents (of students attending Cole R-V next year): We have been in contact with Cole R-V & have made them aware of the last day of school for our 8th graders. We hope to hear something early next week, indicating a time that the counselor can visit with our 8th graders and help them with classes. Cole R-V is changing to a 7 hour block next year, which is causing delays in scheduling. If meeting at school does not work out, we have been assured that there will be time set aside at Freshman Orientation (unscheduled as of yet for same reason) for any questions or help that may be needed.

We will no longer be able to offer van services for the 2013-14 school year. We are checking into the possibility of using Eugene’s buses for our students who need transportation. We are also opening extended care at 6:30 am to help families that need earlier service. We are asking school families to help by picking up students, or dropping off students each day to help with transportation arrangements. If we all work together, we can help each other and save the parish money.

Good luck to the students who will be participating in Sketch Day on Monday! They are: Kenadi Trachsel, Cameron Haeffner, Erin Love, Megan Evers, Rachel Wood, Kyle Kliethermes, Abby Puckett, & Ally Puckett.

Thank you to everyone who sent in food and helped with meals for the scrap booking crop last weekend.  Our numbers were low due to the many proms, but it was still a fun day and we made a profit of $529.82 for our school.

Pampered Chef: if anyone needs Pampered Chef products, the consultant that was a vendor at our scrap booking fundraiser is keeping the book party open for awhile longer if you want to order.  We plan to use the hostess benefits to order products for the Silent Auction at next years Italian Feast. You can view a catalog at www.pamperedchef.com

Thirty One:  if anyone wants to purchase Thirty One products, Lindsey Trinklein is also holding her show open for another week.  You can view products at:  www.thirtyonegifts.com.  Proceeds will benefit our school. Please contact Stacy Schrimpf if you would like to order anything. She can be reached at 573-619-2736 or email: stacesname@aol.com  Orders will be taken until Sunday May 5th.

THERE WILL BE NO AFTER SCHOOL CARE OFFERED ON THE FINAL DAY OF SCHOOL, MAY 15TH. This is due to the fact that there are teacher meetings scheduled for the afternoon. Before school care WILL be offered that morning.

Box Tops for Education:  Thanks to all who clip & save. We recently received $215.80 for our last submission. Those 10 cent coupons really do add up! Thanks so much to Jeanne Buechter and girls who put much effort into submissions for this program. We appreciate your dedication.

Monday          NO SCHOOL – Easter Break
Tuesday         School in Session – Snow Make-up Day, Last Day to send in Shoes
Wednesday
Thursday
 Friday

OLOS School is participating in the “Shoeman Water Project”. From now until April 2nd we will be collecting shoes – in any condition, for this worthwhile project. Please go clean out all your closets and bring in your shoes & boots for a good cause.  Please remember to tie the strings together or put a rubber band around them.  No old pair is in too bad of shape to bring, as they resell the good ones in a resale shop and sell the others to a recycling center. This is a great fundraiser as it costs you absolutely nothing and just may clean up a little space in your closet. Our collection site will be in the school cafeteria.
Thanks so much to Karen Harms (Carla Morris’s sister). Karen donated one morning last week in the kitchen, filling in when we needed help. If you see Karen, please let her know of our appreciation.
CHEER PARENTS: Please remember to send in your child’s CLEAN uniform. Remember, there will be a fee charged if any item is unreturned.

8th grade graduation: Once again, we are asking the 7th grade parents and students to host the reception for the graduation.
