          Halloween Party & Parade – begin @ 1:30 pm
Tues –   ALL SAINTS DAY

HALLOWEEN PARTIES/ROOM PARENTS: We count on our room parents to provide games, snacks, and drinks for our three classrooms parties each year – Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. The “Walk” on Halloween will begin at 1:30 pm. All students are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes for the walk, but please no scary or gory outfits that might frighten the younger students! Thanks to the businesses/people that “treat” our students on the walk – The Corner Market, M. H. Bank, OLOS Credit Union, Father Pat, and others…

ALL SAINTS DAY – TUESDAY:  ALL SCHOOL STAFF will be attending Mass on Tuesday, All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation. If you bring your child after 7:45 am, please bring them directly to the Church, as all doors to the school will be locked.

VIRTUS TRAINING: OLOS Parish will have a local Virtus training class on Mon. Nov 7 at 6:30 in the parish meeting room (annex). This is a great opportunity for all new school parents, anyone involved in sports, classroom parents, parents going to Washington D. C. on the pro-life trip, and anyone working with children to attend this required class. To register, go to diojeffcity.org, scroll down, click on “Office of Child & Youth Protection”, and follow the prompts.

OPEN GYM: The 6-8 boys and 7-8 girls will have open gym each Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

NEEDED: 5 flat screen computer monitors in good working condition for computer lab, no size restrictions. Contact Mr. V if you would like to donate.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: The Christmas program is scheduled for Sun., Dec. 4th, after the 10:00 am Mass. IF YOU KNOW NOW THAT YOUR FAMILY CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE LET MR. VANDIKE KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, AS PARTS ARE BEING ASSIGNED NOW.

VOLLEYBALL GIRLS; Please return your uniforms in a bag marked with your name on it. We will keep these in the office for you until sports picture day – November 16th.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Italian Feast – Feb. 4, 2017. We will need person(s) to train with Nancy in the kitchen this year to fill her spot the following year. Also, we need person(s) to take over this fundraiser in general. Silent Auction items will once again be needed. Watch holiday sales for things that would make good auction items – as each family is expected to donate towards the auction. This will all be discussed at the H & S meeting on November 10th.

REMINDER TO PARENTS OF STUDENTS BRINGING LUNCHES FROM HOME:  Please see that your child’s lunch has everything they need for their meal – DRINKS, plates, utensils, condiments, napkins. The lunch program cannot afford to supply these things if the student is not buying the daily lunch.

SHIRT ORDERS: Tammy Love contacted the office and wanted all parents to know that she has placed the final order for spirit, polo, & hoodies for the season. Due to exorbitant shipping costs, Tammy will revert back to only ordering two times per year. She wants to assure you that you will receive your orders very soon. Even though we will only be offering orders twice yearly, Tammy still has plenty of in stock polos, spirit shirts, and hoodies. To find out if she has what you need, just give her a call in the evening @ 498-3389. All questions about orders/apparel in stock should be directed to her, not the office. Also, Tammy tells us that Reading Counts shirts will be done shortly, so ask your child how close he/she is to 75 points.

HOME & SCHOOL MEETING: We will have a Home & School meeting for all school parents on Thursday, November 10th, beginning @ 6:00 pm, with a carry-in dinner. Fundraising – Fantasy Night & Italian Feast will be discussed. This will be THE meeting to attend to discuss any Fantasy Night or Italian Feast planning, as we are losing several families (due to their last child graduating this year) that we heavily depend on for fundraising efforts.

CALLING ALL INTERESTED IN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: There will be a CSW planning meeting on Monday, November 14th, in the school cafeteria at 6:30 pm. CSW begins on Jan. 28, 2017, with the 5:00 pm Mass. We would like anyone interested and/or anyone with good ideas to come to the meeting to help plan this celebration of our faith! All welcome!

PROPANE THAT PAYS… This is the time of year when many people like to fill propane tanks or prepay. If you are or would like to be a customer of Capital Energy Co, contact them and please mention that you are a member of OLOS parish. The parish receives a percentage for every gallon the customer buys.
