ST. NICHOLAS ACADEMY, BAKING FOR THE COMMUNITY & THE SANTA STORE are all taking place this upcoming week. We are still in need of gifts for the boys in the St. Nicholas Academy (through Monday), still need baking supplies (through Monday) & will still accept donations to the Santa Store (through Tuesday). An updated list is included in today’s information. Remember, the donation to St. Nicholas Academy takes the place of the $5 classroom gift exchange. Thanks to all who have donated items and sent money for gifts. It is so very much appreciated!

SCHOOL CLOSING: Any emergency early dismissal or closing of the school will be announced by parent alert (text, email, voice) and through social media, as well as over area television stations. PARENTS SHOULD NOT CALL the school office during inclement weather conditions to learn if the school is closing early. This unnecessarily ties up our phone lines for emergency communications. A phone call into school during this time will delay the process of getting our communications out to all families. Please note that afternoon extended care services are NOT available in the event of early dismissal due to weather or other emergencies.

BALLGAME NEWS: Congratulations to our Madelyn D. & the St. Peter, JC ball team, for winning their first game of the season against IC with a score of 17-16. So exciting! As of this printing, the results of the Thursday night boys’ ballgame were not in.

YOUR CHANCE TO WIN DRESS DOWN PASSES! All families returning their 22-23 Friday folder (The Heavens Declare the Glory of the Lord) by the Tuesday of the week following, with any needed paperwork completed, will be placed in a drawing for a bonus dress down pass for students in their family. Congratulations Clarice W & Alex & Oliver H. for winning in the two recent weeks!

January calendars will be sent home next week, but there will not be a weekly newsletter from the office. Because of this, we wish to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Blessed & Merry Christmas, with much fun and fellowship with friends & family. May the Peace of Christ make a place in your heart this Christmas season.

After dismissing on Friday, December 16th at 3:15 pm, school will reconvene on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023.

Please return your folder on Monday.

THINGS TO BE AWARE OF IN THE UPCOMING MONTHS:

  • If you drive students other than your own on a field trip, you must have VIRTUS (Protecting God’s Children) training & also must show proof of $100,000/$300,000 insurance coverage.
  • All School parents/guardians will be REQUIRED to have VIRTUS training to enroll their child in OLOS School next school year. This includes BOTH parents. This training is offered online @ virtusonline.org. You simply create and account, specify that you are with “Jefferson City Diocese” and begin the training. It usually takes a little less than two hours total, and you can save your progress and come back to it later, if needed. Set this as one of your New Year goals! Thank you!
