Wed – DONUTS WITH DAD – begins w/ Prayer Service @ 8:00 am (7/8 Ministry), then pumpkin carving/decorating in the cafeteria – BRING YOUR OWN TOOLS/DECORATIONS! WE SUPPLY THE PUMPKINS.

        End of First Quarter

Thur – JV Girls Vball @ HOME – 7:00 pm (vs. Kings Academy) - COME CHEER!!!

Fri –   Dress Down Day

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES: Updated Sign-up sheets are enclosed in today’s folder. Conferences are for all grades – Preschool through 8^th. If you have not already done so, please put your name beside your first & second choice and return no later than this Monday, Oct. 14^th. IF YOU DO NOT SIGN UP, YOU WILL BE CALLED TO SET UP A TIME.

THANKS SO MUCH to our volunteers who helped with reading achievement tests this week - Marie Massman & Elijah Whittle. We so appreciate them!

CALLING ALL DADS! CHANGE OF PLANS/TIMES: We will be enjoying a morning of prayer and fellowship this Wednesday, October 16^th, when we are inviting all dads (or dad “substitutes”) to join us. The prayer service will begin at 8:00 am in church, and students may sit with their dad. We will then move over to the cafeteria for refreshments and PUMPKIN CARVING/DECORATING! DADS - PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PUMPKIN CARVING KITS &/OR STICKERS/MARKERS. The time frame is a change from the original calendar, sent home in registration packets (previously was 6:30 until after Mass). We are looking forward to enjoying the morning with our dads!

SPIRIT WEEK:  This week - October 14^th – October 18^th will be spirit week, as all testing will be over with, and we will be hosting our final home volleyball games. Remember, though these are themed dress down days, all length & sleeve requirements are still enforced. Following are themes for each day:

Mon., Oct. 14:  Cartoon Character Monday – dress like a cartoon character or wear cartoon character T-shirt

Tues., Oct 15: Tie-Dye Tuesday – wear tie-dye or neon clothing

Wed., Oct 16: Dress Like Dad Wednesday – Dad & child/ren wear similar items

Thurs., Oct 17: Blue & Gold Thursday – step up our spirit wear for our last home game

Fri., Oct 18: Dress Down Friday

CLASSROOM PARENTS: We are counting on you to plan activities and refreshments for the Halloween parties. Room parent lists were sent home last week. Thanks so much for your help in making our parties so much fun!

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES: Please – no scary or gory costumes for our Halloween Walk/parties. No ghosts, devils, witches, zombies, etc. Let’s keep our celebration lighthearted! We do not want to scare our little people!

CHRISTMAS PARADE: The Mary’s Home Christmas Parade is planned for Friday, November 29^th. We would love OLOS School to be represented. If you can help coordinate a float, please contact Mr. Akin.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM DATE ANNOUNCED: Mark your calendar for the OLOSS Christmas program, scheduled for Thursday, December 5^th at 6:30 pm. The alternate date will be Thursday, December 12^th.

MORE DATES: READING COUNTS PLANNING MEETING – Tuesday, November 12^th @ 5:30 pm (before the H & S mtg.), CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK PLANNNING MEETING – Monday, November 18^th at 6:00 pm. All good ideas needed and wanted.
