ACHIEVEMENT TESTING THIS WEEK! Achievement tests will be administered to Kindergarten through 8th Graders this upcoming week, primarily in the mornings. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and gets a good breakfast. We will offer a small snack each morning, but nothing replaces a good breakfast!

SWITCHING DRESS DOWN DAY: The dress down day this week will be on THURSDAY. Friday will be a regular dress code day. This is due to the fact that we would like our students in full dress code when KOMU is here to record our students reciting the pledge.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES: Sign-ups are enclosed in today’s folder. Please put your name beside your first & second choice. Every effort will be made to get you in at or near your requested time. Please return no later than Monday, Oct. 14th.

LOADS OF FUN/PLEASANT DREAMS DELIVERY: Loads for Fun and Pleasant Dreams fundraiser products will be delivered to school on Sunday, October 6th, around 5:00 p.m. On Sunday, items will be available for pickup in the gym parking lot (in back, double-door, pick-up line area). Please make sure all sellers pick up their items to be distributed at this time. If you cannot pick up the items on Sunday, please have them picked up no later than the end of the school day on Monday, October 7th. Thank you for supporting this rewarding and beneficial technology drive!

FANTASY NIGHT NEWS: WORK LISTS ARE IN TODAY’S FOLDER. Help is still needed in a couple locations. Please call Joan Doerhoff or Rosie if would be able to fill in. Keep on trying to sell those tickets! As of today, we have approximately 100 tickets left to sell in this final week. ALL TICKETS, sold on unsold, should be turned in to the office or bank, so that we may disburse those that are unsold when needed. Also, please help spread the word that we will open the doors to begin seating people at 5:30 pm (it says 6:00 on the flyer & tickets) in order to have everyone completely seated and ready to begin dinner at 6:30 pm promptly. Refreshments will only be available after 6:00 pm.

TEST READERS: We are in need of readers for achievement testing week, mornings only. This Monday, October 7th through Friday, October 11th. If you or someone you know could help out any or all of these days, please contact Rosie or Mr. Akin first thing Monday morning.

CALLING ALL DADS! CHANGE OF PLANS/TIMES: We will be enjoying a morning of prayer and fellowship on Wednesday, October 16th, when we are inviting all dads (or dad “substitutes”) to join us. The prayer service will begin at 8:00 am in church, and students may sit with their dad. We will then move over to the cafeteria for refreshments and PUMPKIN CARVING/DECORATING! DADS - PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PUMPKIN CARVING KITS &/OR STICKERS/MARKERS. The time frame is a change from the original calendar, sent home in registration packets (previously was 6:30 until after Mass). We are looking forward to enjoying the morning with our dads!

60 – 70 PUMPKINS for the morning with dad have been donated by the Mo. Dept of Corrections. Every student will get a pumpkin to take home, but those with several kids here at school may choose to only carve/decorate one. Ben Kempker hauled the pumpkins to OLOSS using his own truck, and actually took personal time off to make the delivery. If you see him around, please thank him. Of course, we will be sending a thank you to Ben & the Dept. of Corrections from the school children.

CLASSROOM PARENTS: We are counting on you to plan activities and refreshments for the Halloween parties. Room parent lists were sent home last week. Thanks so much for your help in making our parties so much fun!

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES: Please – no scary or gory costumes for our Halloween Walk/parties. No ghosts, devils, witches, zombies, etc. Let’s keep our celebration lighthearted! We do not want to scare our little people!
