FANTASY NIGHT THANK YOU! Thanks so much to all who worked so hard to make this such a success. It is a big job, with work required over many days. We so appreciate all your efforts, all who purchased, and most especially all who helped out who do not have children in our school. It truly does take a village to raise a child!

FANTASY NIGHT WRAP UP: Please join us Monday evening at 6:15 to go over recommendations and to tie up loose ends. All interested please attend!

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES: Updated Sign-up sheets are enclosed in today’s folder. Please be prompt to your conference and be aware that time slots are 10 minutes. Please be courteous and stay within the time frame allowed.

AWESOME JOB, DADS! We had a fantastic turnout for the pumpkin carving and prayer service on Wednesday, with some great jack-o-lanterns created! We so appreciate all our dads and dad “subs” who made the morning special for our students!

NOW WE ARE CALLING ALL MOMS! Muffins with Mom will be on Wednesday, November 13th, beginning with 8:00 am Mass. We will then move over to the school for fun and fellowship. If mom can’t make it, please invite a “sub” mom in for your child.
HELP NEEDED! We are in need of a few volunteers to create the framework for the backdrop of our Christmas musical. It would just be putting some 2 X 4’s together. If you could help out with construction or lumber, please contact Mrs. Werdehausen as soon as possible. Thank you!

GHOSTY GRAMS! It’s not too late! We will be taking ghosty gram orders until October 28th. They are 50 cents each. More sheets are enclosed in today’s folder, but if you need additional, let us know and we will send you more.

CLASSROOM PARENTS: We are counting on you to plan activities and refreshments for the Halloween parties. Thanks so much for your help in making our parties so much fun!

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES: Please – no scary or gory costumes for our Halloween Walk/parties. No ghosts, devils, witches, zombies, etc. Let’s keep our celebration lighthearted! We do not want to scare our little people!

2020 ALL SCHOOL RAFFLE: New prizes featured for those who do not hunt. Tickets are now available for sale for $50 each. Two winning tickets are drawn each month, for a total of 24 prizes awarded. If you would like to purchase or sell tickets, please contact Greg Koetting or Josh Vandike. We do have individual tickets for sale at Mary’s Home Bank. For a list of prizes see the reverse of these notes.

CHRISTMAS PARADE: The Mary’s Home Christmas Parade is planned for Friday, November 29th. We would love OLOS School to be represented. If you can help coordinate a float, please contact Mr. Akin.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM DATE ANNOUNCED: Mark your calendar for the OLOSS Christmas program, scheduled for Thursday, December 5th at 6:30 pm. The alternate date will be Thursday, December 12th.

MORE DATES: READING COUNTS PLANNING MEETING – Tuesday, November 12th @ 5:30 pm (before the H & S mtg.), CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK PLANNNING MEETING-Monday, November 18th at 6:00 pm. All ideas needed and wanted.
LIGHTING OF THE CEMETERY: OLOS students will be participating in the Litany of the Saints procession & the lighting of the cemetery again this year. The morning of Thursday, October 31st, the students, staff, & community will gather to recite the Litany and place over 1000 lights on the graves. This activity is tied to a tradition, originating in Germany, where people lit candles and placed them on the graves of their loved ones, letting them burn throughout the night before All Saints, representing the “light of the holy souls”. All are invited to participate.

VOLLEYBALL NEWS: We are excited to report that the Lady Cougars won ALL THREE SETS last night against Kings Academy, with scores of 25-19, 25-12, & 24-23. Way to go, ladies!  The girls will finish up their season, by playing on Saturday in the Catholic Bowl at 9:00 am at Helias. We wish them the best of luck!!

PLEASE RETURN YOUR FOLDER ON MONDAY!
HAVE A GREAT OCTOBER WEEKEND!
