JUST A FEW DAYS AWAY!!! OLOS students are participating in the Science Fair this year. PACKETS WERE SENT HOME PREVIOUSLY THAT CONTAINED INFORMATION REGARDING PROJECT GUIDELINES. PLEASE USE THIS AS REFERENCE. Students in grades 3rd through 8th are required to do a project, which will be part of their science grade. Younger students are encouraged to do projects for show. Boards are $4 each. If you need a board, please put payment (to OLOS) in a marked envelope and send to the office. Students in grades 6th, 7th, & 8th are required to also do a paper with their project. In these grades (6,7,8) one winner will be chosen to attend the diocesan fair in each of the categories of Life, Physical & Earth Science (3 winners total will go to diocese). Each student in these grades should prominently designate on the back of their board into which category their project should be placed. THE OLOS SCIENCE FAIR IS THIS TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 22. All projects and papers will be due for display on that day. The diocesan fair will be held March 19th.

The OLOS Student Council will be sponsoring a “Dress In Green” Day for St. Patrick’s Day again this year. We thought we would get the word out early so that you have more of a chance to be creative and find “green” items. We will choose best dressed winners from each class – one boy & one girl. St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th. Thanks to all who supported our Valentine Candygram sales. You are appreciated!

Change of menu – Thursday, February 24 we will have Pork Roast, Mashed Potatoes with gravy, green beans & bread.

Our thanks to…all the FANTASTIC ROOM PARENTS for making our Valentine’s parties SO SWEET!

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK was a little confusing this year. We will still try to schedule the tour of the rectory & visit with Father. New plans for community day (if any – we’ve cancelled twice) may be discussed.

Due to the snow day in January which cancelled the scheduled Home & School meeting, we will have a Home & School meeting, as well as a School Advisory Board meeting on Feb. 17th, at 6:30 and 7:30 respectively. We realize there are home games that evening, but it was the only available night in February. Make plans to attend both – part of the 1st game & the meeting & earn bonus “dress down” passes for attendance at the meeting.

Snow Make up Days: We WILL be in session on Monday, Feb. 21st & Tues., April 26th.

ROOM PARENTS:  Valentine’s parties are Monday, Feb. 14th at 2:00 pm. We are counting on you to once again make our holiday bright! Room parents are responsible for providing snacks, drinks and any games that the students may want to play. Please feel free to ask other parents of children in the classroom to provide refreshments – they do not have to be provided by room parents only.

Mrs. Groose will be selling BEEF STICKS at lunchtime again this year. They are $1 each.
