FASTING GROUP:  We are so proud of the group of students and staff who took on the 24 hour fast this week to raise money and awareness for the Rice Bowl campaign. These individuals committed to fast for 24 hours, while only consuming juice & water during this time. We recognize and commend Grant Stockton, Gabby Morff, Kalie Massman, Rachel Buechter, Zachary Eickhoff, Tevin Groose, Justin Schrimpf, Carla Morris, Marie Massman, & Marianna Werdehausen. Through their efforts over $300 was raised for the poor. A huge thank you to Parr’s Corner Market, for providing pizzas as a surprise ending to the fast on Wednesday afternoon. We are proud and thankful for all of you!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: All school families are invited and strongly encouraged to attend the Self-Study meal on Tuesday, April 8th to begin @ 5:30 pm. This meal is planned for the conclusion of the visiting team’s time here and will be a summation of recommendations by the committees and visiting team. RSVP forms may be found in today’s folder.

BOOM TOWN was a huge success. With your support, the 3rd graders were able to raise $162.50 for Ethin Limbach and Andi Jo Schulte. All the students really enjoyed the afternoon, and it was a great learning experience as well. Thank you for your support!

8TH GRADERS: Start getting your pictures together. We are planning on getting the slide show done early this year. Please submit 7 pictures (name & numbered on back 1-7, in order) by April 11th. We thank Stacy Schrimpf, who has graciously volunteered to put this presentation together for us once again.

GRADUATION CAP/TASSEL/GOWN FEE FOR 8TH GRADERS: The school charges $8.50 per student for cap/gown/tassel fees. You may send this in at any time. Please make checks payable to OLOSS Special Account. Guidelines for graduation dress: Boys – dress pants, collared shirt, dress shoes, tie is optional; Girls – dresses, no more than 2 inches above the knee, no spaghetti straps showing (may wear shawl to cover). Students will be wearing cap/gown for graduation and awards ceremony.

GRADUATION RECEPTION: Each year, the 7th grade parents and students host the 8th grade graduation reception. Thanks so much to Gina Adrian, Lori Evers, Lynn Morgan & Christy Evers, who have volunteered to head this up. All 7th grade parents may be contacted to provide refreshments for this event.

FIRST RECONCILIATION has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 30th, after the 10:00 am Mass.

THE READING COUNTS DEADLINE is Friday, April 25th. If your child reaches 200 points by April 25th, he/she qualifies to attend the Reading Counts field trip, which is scheduled for Thursday, May 8th at Tan-Tar-A Waterpark. The Fundraising Committee designated profits from the two breakfasts this year to go towards this trip. We are proud to say that with the approximately $1575 made from these two events, the cost for the bus (approx. $400), and the majority of the ticket costs will be covered. Parents will probably be expected to pay $5-6 per child (full price of tickets is $17). Parents are welcome to attend and gain entrance for $5, or are charged $17 if swimming. No siblings are allowed on this trip. Additionally, for every 25 points over 200, your child gets a ticket, to be placed in a drawing for a prize. If your child does not qualify to attend the trip, he/she will stay at school as a normal day of school and will be held responsible for all assignments.

IT WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!!  We are once again planning our annual Easter egg hunt. The hunt will be for students in PK through 5th grades on the afternoon of Tuesday, Apirl 22nd (after Easter). We are asking each family in PK-5th to bring in one bag of candy (no chocolate because it melts in the sun). No plastic eggs are necessary; we have accumulated plenty. If you wish, you may also send in extra treats for students in 6-8 grades, who will be graciously filling and “hiding” the eggs. You may go ahead and send the candy into the office at any time. Thank you!

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: The school children will be attending Stations of the Cross every Friday afternoon at 2:15. If you or a grandparent will be taking your child after the Stations, please send a note to the classroom teacher so that students can bring their book bag to church with them.

EXTENDED CARE SERVICES (before and after school) will be available on Holy Thursday and on May 15th, the final day of school.
