BOOKFAIR & BREAKFAST:  RESCHEDULED TO THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 9^TH.  Serving from 7:45 to 11:45. Biscuits & Gravy, Rope Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, Coffee & Juice. Adults $6.00, Children 4-10 $4.00, 3 & under free. Carry outs are available. The book fair will be open as well. HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE!

BOOK FAIR FIESTA: During the book fair week, the students had a contest to see which classroom could collect the most change. Congratulations to the 4^th & 5^th grade for winning this contest. They will be treated to a pizza party (Wed @ 1:10). Below are totals for each classroom:

PK - $47.92, K/1 – $58.20, 2/3 – $35.67, 4/5 - $113.40, 6/7 – $49.66, 8 - $27.07.

The students decided to give this money to Ethan Limbach and family for their needs during Ethan’s treatment. Thanks so much to all for the donations! Congratulations also to the Preschoolers for winning book fair bingo. They received a special treat. The 6/7 graders came in second and received a bonus dress down pass.

The READING COUNTS DEADLINE is Friday, April 25^th. If your child reaches 200 points by April 25^th, he/she qualifies to attend the Reading Counts field trip, which is scheduled for Thursday, May 8^th at Tan-Tar-A Waterpark. For every 25 points over 200, your child gets a ticket, to be placed in a drawing for a prize.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: The school children will be attending Stations of the Cross every Friday afternoon at 2:15. If you or a grandparent will be taking your child after the Stations, please send a note to the classroom teacher so that students can bring their book bag to church with them.

8^TH GRADE RETREAT: The eleven 8^th graders will be attending the annual retreat in Folk this Wednesday, March 12^th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Students will need to provide their own sack lunches and drinks. Students may wear jeans but should wear a collared shirt. Please send money for a possible stop at Central Dairy on the way home, if time permits. Thanks so much to parent drivers Patsy Bond & Brian Evers.  Students will be leaving @ 7:30 sharp that morning so if you need to make arrangements to get your 8^th grader here by 7:25 am, ready to leave by 7:30 am. The students may not be back by 3:00 pm so please make other arrangements for end of day, if necessary.  

PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS – TUESDAY, MARCH 25^TH, 6:30 – 7:00 PM. All interested in enrolling their child in preschool or kindergarten next year are invited and encouraged to attend.

ELECTRIC SAFETY PROGRAM has been rescheduled to Friday, March 28^th at 12:30 pm.

THE PENNIES FOR PATIENTS PROGRAM will be put on hold until April 22^nd, and it will run until May 9^th.

RICE BOWL: Hopefully, you are using the Catholic Relief Services “Operation Rice Bowl” kit enclosed in last week’s folder. Make a Lenten Plan – PRAY – set aside time for prayer and reflections, FAST – consider what you will give up for Lent, GIVE – set a goal for you CRS Rice Bowl offering.  All offerings will be collected after Lent and forwarded to CRS. PARISH MISSION:  It is time for our Parish Mission, which will run from March 9^th through the 12^th. Fr. John Mark Ettensohn, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate from Belleville, IL will be conducting the mission. There will be no tests or extra homework during this time so that all families may attend.

REMINDER: The school doors open at 7:25 am. If your child arrives before that time, he/she will be placed in extended care and you will be charged the daily drop in fee of $5.

UNIFORMS:

If you have not turned in your uniforms, please do so as soon as possible.

CONTAGIOUS & COMMUNICABLE CONDITIONS:

Parents, we have had many students sick with a variety of illnesses.  To keep our school as healthy as possible, please follow the handbook policy. Thank you for your help in this matter. As stated on pg. 16 of the handbook: All contagious and communicable conditions- strep throat, measles, pinkeye, head lice, chicken pox, etc. are to be reported to the school office so that proper precautions can be taken.  Students will not attend school or school activities until proper treatment procedures and readmission standards are met.  The school shall follow the guidelines of the Missouri Department of Health and or County Health nurses.

7^TH GRADE PARENTS: Each year, the 7^th grade parents and students host the 8^th grade graduation reception. We are now asking for parent coordinators for this – which is scheduled for Saturday, May 10^th, beginning with the 5:00 pm Mass. Please contact someone in the office with your offer to help. Thanks so much to Gina Adrian who is our first volunteer!

8^th GRADE PARENTS/STUDENTS: Along with recent graduations, a slide show has been presented at the reception. This has been traditionally constructed by family or friends of the 8^th grade students. Please contact the office if you would be able to put a presentation together with the students’ pictures.

SNOW MAKE-UP DAYS REVISITED: DUE TO THE SNOW DAYS, SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION ON THURSDAY, APRIL 17^TH (1/2 DAY), TUESDAY, APRIL 22^nd, & MAY 15^TH (1/2 DAY). FURTHERMORE, THE FOLLOWING DAYS, ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED AS 1/2 DAYS WILL BE FULL DAYS – FRIDAY, APRIL 4, FRIDAY, MAY 2, & WED., MAY 14. So as of now, the last day of school will be Thursday, May 15^th, dismissing at 12:00 noon. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 am on May 15^th. Lunch and extended care will be offered.

SODA TABS: The Student Council is collecting soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Please begin saving these for this most worthy cause. You may send them into the office anytime. Thank you!

OLOSS ANNUAL CRAPPIE TOURNAMENT – scheduled for Saturday, April 26^th. More information to follow, but in the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact Billy or Patsy Bond.
