GRANDPARENTS DAY went very well. We had over 60 grandparents here joining us for the day. What a great turn out! Thank you to all the grandparents. You made our day brighter!

SEPTEMBER 11th brought many vets to our school. We gathered around the flagpole. As we raised the flag, we recited the pledge. We then went to the gym to honor the men and women with a patriotic rosary and a short power point show. We ended the day with cookies and juice in the cafeteria. God bless our vets and thank them for their service!

HOME & SCHOOL MEETING & POTLUCK: On Thursday, Sept. 19th, we will begin our first Home & School meeting with a pot-luck meal, beginning at 6:00 pm. PLEASE BRING A DISH TO SHARE! This will take place in the gym. Remember, parents, that you also earn a bonus dress down pass for each of your children just for attending. The School Advisory Board will meet immediately following, at approximately 7:30 pm. Hope to see all parents at the Home & School meeting!

MENU UPDATE: Thursday, September 19th was listed as “Cook’s choice” The cooks have decided and we will be enjoying a meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, cooked carrots, bread, and fruit. Now that’s worth giving the cooks a choice!

DRESS DOWN FOR $1 DAY: Friday is a dress down for $1 day. This year the Student Council is allocating these funds to the Eldon Food Bank – a very worthy cause. Please make every effort to remember to send $1 if your child dresses down. All length and sleeve requirements are still in force.

STUDENT COUNCIL SPONSOR STILL NEEDED: We are looking for a parent volunteer to help with the Student Council. The Council generally meets once a month and works on activities to “brighten” the students lives at school. Call the office if you would like to help. Many thanks to Missy Evers who has volunteered to help out. We would like to have at least one more adult sponsor.

4-6 GRADE VOLLEYBALL SCORES: The younger team took a loss last Saturday, with scores of 25-13, 25-7, and 25-17. Keep trying girls! Win or lose you know we are proud of YOU!

JV VOLLEYBALL LATE BREAKING NEWS: The girls won one of three sets last night against Holy Family. That’s not too bad!

STUDENT HEALTH SCREENINGS will be on Thursday, September 26th. Students will have height, weight, vision, hearing, lice and immunization checks. Please make sure that you have all records (if you received notice last week) turned in by the beginning of that week for the Miller Co. Health Dept. nurses.

MULCH NEEDED: If you or anyone you know has any extra mulch, the flower beds by the school could use some. Call the office or unload and spread when it is convenient for you. Thank you!

LIBRARY HELP: We are in need of a library helper on Tuesdays to help Christina read to the students. Please call the office if you would like to volunteer.

YEARBOOKS:   If you would like to purchase a yearbook, the cost is $12. Please make checks payable to OLOS School and remit in a marked envelope. Your copy will be sent home in the folder on the following Friday.
