The 5th & 6th grade girls’ basketball team took a loss to St. Joe, Westphalia 22-14 on the same day. The JV Boys played in the St. Stanislaus tournament and played against St. Stan. on Tuesday evening. They went into overtime and lost by three, with a final score of 35-32. What a game!

ITALIAN FEAST REMINDERS:
Work List:
Please turn in your work list sign up sheets ON MONDAY.  The Italian Feast is quickly approaching and we have lots of planning left to do.
Silent Auction: Please help make the Silent Auction successful again this year.  We ask each family to donate to their class theme baskets as well as help round up other nice items for the Auction.  Please send these into school at any time so we can start preparing the bid sheets.  If you would like to go together with other families and donate some bigger items that would be great too.
Class Basket Themes:  PK – Scrapbooking, K/1 – Sports Day, 2 – A Day at the Beach, 3/4 – Camping, 5 – Kitchen stuff, 6 – Religious, 7/8 – Mizzou. Every child in the classroom should either bring an item for their classroom basket or send in $5 to the classroom teacher so that they may do the shopping for the basket.
Tickets:  Please try to pre sell your dinner tickets to help with the up front food expenses.  Money can be turned into the school office.  You can also get more tickets via the office as well.

Student Council members: Please note the meeting this Monday, Jan. 10th, until 3:30 pm or so. We will be taking down the Christmas decorations and making plans for Valentine’s Day. Please bring a note with permission to stay for the meeting.

7TH & 8TH GRADE PARENTS: Please find and fill out completely and return on Monday the permission form for your child to attend the Pro-Life Rosary at the Capitol on Jan. 21st. Please note that your child will need money that day to eat out.

Due to the snow day on December 16th – SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION ON JANUARY 17 – MLK.
Lunch for Jan. 17th will be:  Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, fresh fruit

Special note for parents of students attending the Pro-Life rally in Washington D. C. in late January:  Please come to the short meeting at 6:15 on January 12th (Wed. night). This will be a short meeting (15 min.) to discuss the specifics of the trip – what to pack, what is expected, etc.

Because of limited seating on the van, only students who have contracted for bus services may ride. This means that if a child who normally rides the bus invites a friend over, the parent must make other arrangements for pick-up. Permission may be granted by request in the case of extenuating circumstances – and in this case the parent would need to speak with Mrs. Trachsel.

Box Tops for Education: We received $210.80 for the Box Tops for Education campaign. Thanks to all who clip those box tops  - we receive 10 cents each for them, and if you pay attention, you really can collect them pretty quickly because they are on so many of the groceries you may be buying. Thanks to Jeanne & girls for taking care of this campaign!

8th grade retreat @ Folk – scheduled for Fri, Feb. 18th. Thanks so much to Patsy Bond for volunteering to drive & chaperone our 6 students that day. The fee for each student to attend will be $10, which is paid by the parent. You may send your payment in anytime before January 17th, checks payable to OLOS.  (Please note – the retreat is not Jan. 18th, as listed on calendar sent home before Christmas.)
