CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK BEGINS SUNDAY. Please see enclosed sign up sheet for Mass volunteers. Also, please send in two to three dozen homemade cookies by this Friday, Jan. 28th (to pass out to parish family after all weekend Masses).

OLOS students will be participating in the Science Fair this year. PACKETS WERE SENT HOME PREVIOUSLY THAT CONTAINED INFORMATION REGARDING PROJECT GUIDELINES. PLEASE KEEP THIS FOR YOUR REFERENCE. Students in grades 3rd through 8th will be required to do a project, which will be part of their science grade. Younger students are encouraged to do projects for show. Boards are now being offered for a nominal fee of $4. If you need a board, please put payment (to OLOS) in a marked envelope and send to the office. Students in grades 6th, 7th, & 8th are required to also do a paper with their project. In these grades (6,7,8) one winner will be chosen to attend the diocesan fair in each of the categories of Life, Physical & Earth Science (3 winners total will go to diocese). Each student in these grades should prominently designate on the back of their board which category their project should be placed in. THE OLOS SCIENCE FAIR WILL BE FEBRUARY 22. All projects and papers will be due for display on that day. The diocesan fair will be held March 19th.

Due to the snow days last week, we are rescheduling the DRESS DOWN FOR $1 FOR GUIDO FOR THIS WEDNESDAY, JAN. 26TH.

8th grade retreat @ Folk – scheduled for Fri, Feb. 18th. PERMISSION FORMS ARE IN TODAY’S FOLDER. Please fill these out and return. Your child will need to pack a lunch & a drink on that day. Nice jeans (no holes) and collared shirts may be worn for this event – as they may be outside a little bit if the weather permits. The students must be at Folk between 8:30 and 9:00 for registration, so they will be leaving school around 7:30 and will not return until after 3:30 pm.

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Christinea Schwartzer had her baby – a girl named Isabella Marie – on Jan. 18th. Isabella weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. We congratulate Mrs. Schwartzer and her husband on the birth of their new little bundle of joy!

We wish to thank the family and friends of Emma Schulte. $2050 was donated to Our Lady of the Snows School through memorial contributions. Please pray for the soul of Emma, and for the consolation and intentions of her family and friends. We appreciate your thoughtfulness!

Catholic Schools Week favorite meals for classrooms will be worked in throughout February. OLOS School is being reviewed by Dept. of Education/Lunch Program the same week as CSW and the “favorites” are too much/too close together…This a routine review that is conducted by DESE every 5-7 years.

PLEASE TURN IN ALL BEST CHOICE UPC LABELS TO THE OFFICE. THEY ARE ONLY REDEEMED ONE TIME PER YEAR AND THEY WILL BE SENT OFF VERY SOON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Thanks so much to the fantastic & very energetic Student Council for decorating the cafeteria so nicely for Valentine’s Day. Watch your folders – the Student Council will once again be offering the candygrams & flowers for your favorite valentine!

Please pray for the safety of those returning from the Pro-Life pilgrimage to Washington D. C. Among the almost thirty attending from OLOS parish were eight of our students and three of our staff members.

ITALIAN FEAST REMINDERS: PLEASE TURN IN ANY ITALIAN FEAST TICKETS THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SELL. IF YOU CAN SELL THEM, THEN BY ALL MEANS KEEP THEM.
Silent Auction: Please help make the Silent Auction successful again this year.  We ask each family to donate to their class theme baskets as well as help round up other nice items for the Auction.  Please send these into school at any time so we can start preparing the bid sheets.  If you would like to go together with other families and donate some bigger items that would be great too.
Class Basket Themes:  PK – Scrapbooking, K/1 – Sports Day, 2 – A Day at the Beach, 3/4 – Camping, 5 – Kitchen stuff, 6 – Religious, 7/8 – Mizzou. Every child in the classroom should either bring an item for their classroom basket or send in $5 to the classroom teacher so that they may do the shopping for the basket.
Tickets:  Please try to pre sell your dinner tickets to help with the up front food expenses.  Money can be turned into the school office.  You can also get more tickets via the office as well.

We thank Bill Plank, Darryl Love, Jacob Schwaller, Sam & Andy Beck, & Brian Kliethermes (and any others we missed?!!) for clearing the parking lots and sidewalks around the church and school last week! We appreciate it!

We have several full sized working computer monitors (not flat) from our computer lab that we need to get rid of. They were replaced with the flat screens through the donation from the state via Jean Rush. If you are interested in any or all – for free, please contact the school office.
