8^TH GRADE NET RETREAT: This retreat is a yearly tradition for our 8^th graders and takes place in Folk, MO. It is being held on Friday, April 22. We are still in need of one driver to transport the three students to and from the retreat. Mr. Vandike will be in attendance with the students.

ENROLLMENT: Instructions for online re-enrollment and new student enrollment were sent home in last week’s folder, along with next year’s school calendar, supply lists, and school spirit wear, hoodie, and dress code shirt order forms. If you would like to have your shirt/hoodie orders ready for pick up at Open House on August 13, 2022, please send in your order to office before the end of the school year, along with payment to Steph’s Tees. If you have any questions or technical difficulties with enrollment, please contact Rosie in the office. Early enrollment deadline is May 1^st. Please see packet for more information.

EASTER SEASON MASS SCHEDULE at Mary’s Home:

Wednesday of Holy Week – Stations of the Cross – 6 pm

Holy Thursday – 6 pm

Good Friday – 6 pm

Holy Saturday – 7 pm

Easter Sunday – 8 am & 10 am

We have been made aware that there is a need for servers for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and for both the Easter Sunday Masses. There are sign up sheets in the back of Church.

BABY SHOWER FOR BIRTHRIGHT: The shower has been moved from April 13^th to April 20^th. Please see the enclosed flyer for more information.

SUDS FUNDRAISING: Our Lady of the Snows is in the middle of its Show Me Suds laundry soap fundraiser, which will run until April 19 (the day we come back from Easter break), with product delivery on either April 27 or 28. Order forms were sent home in last week’s folder. This is the perfect opportunity to purchase laundry soap, dishwashing pods, dishwashing soap, and fabric softener to save everyone money and benefit OLOS at the same time. All proceeds will go towards our parish technology needs. Contact Joan Doerhoff or the School Office for additional information. Thank you for your continued support of OLOS!

KINDNESS BRACELETS: Please support Romie & Madelyn’s efforts by sending in $2 for a bracelet for your child to purchase at lunchtime. All proceeds will benefit a local mental health program. Thank you!

SPELLING BEE UPDATE: Congratulations to Ryan R., who placed FIRST in the fourth-grade division of the Spelling Bee at St. Martin on Wednesday.  Great job to all our super spellers – you represented OLOSS very well! - Nolan S., Austin D., Mikayla E., Rylee V., Adam S., Braden S., Shane B., Braden E., Jacob B., Madelyn D., & Romie G. We are so very proud of ALL of you! Many thanks to Ms. Grellner for sponsoring and working with these students over the last month or so and to our great parent drivers.

TALENT SHOW/FIELD DAY: On Wednesday, May 11^th, we will be having a Talent Show sponsored by Mr. Jannetti in the morning, and a Field Day event mainly in the afternoon. Please be talking to your kids about what they might like to do for the talent show, as we want ALL students involved! Also, please contact Amy Hagenhoff if you would like to help plan the Field Day event. We are asking for parent volunteers for that day as well, so please let Rosie or Amy know if you would be able to help that day. We will have Mass at 8:00 am, Talent Show at 9:00 am, and begin some of the field day activities around 10:00 am or so. We will be grilling hot dogs for a picnic lunch. Sounds like so much fun!

CHANGES TO CALENDAR: We WILL be in session on April 19^th & 20^th, snow make-up days.  

AFTER EASTER PLANS: We will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Tuesday, April 19^th, after we come back from Easter Break. Would you please send in ONE DOZEN filled eggs by Monday, April 11^th for each student’s classroom? Please no chocolate that would melt or candy with any kind of nuts. Also, please remember our 7^th & 8^th graders with a treat. They will be hiding all the eggs so we want to make sure to treat them!

8^th GRADE GRADUATION is set for Saturday, May 7^th, 6:00 pm Mass. Traditionally, 7^th grade parents and students coordinate and host the 8^th grade graduation. Graduation checklists were sent home last week to 7^th grade parents. 7^th grade parents, please coordinate among yourselves on who will oversee each item on the list. Thanks so much to Missy Beck and Pam Groose, parents of 6^th graders, for offering to help host that evening!

 BE KIND! Ms. Dala Hemeyer of Catholic Charities has started a six week anti-bullying & kindness pilot program with our Our Lady of the Snows School Grades 5-8 students in which they will be led through a curriculum and service project that promotes the practice of kindness and empathy as well as how to exercise growth mindset.  The goal is to give students practical skills they can use to battle challenges, both big and small, that they will encounter day to day and throughout their lives! The 3^rd & 4^th grade students are helping our staff to “spy” for the various acts of kindness being practiced by the older students and to report their observations back to Dala each week. We are so encouraged by this opportunity!

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR for the afternoon of Friday, April 22, as we are planning a fun reunion for all former staff members of OLOSS. All parents and community members are invited to attend. There will be light refreshments available.

OTHER IMPORTANT DATES: First Reconciliation – Wednesday & Thursday, April 27^th & 28^th, after morning Mass, First Eucharist – Sunday, May 1, 12:30 Mass. 

YOUR CHANCE TO WIN DRESS DOWN PASSES! All families returning their 21-22 Friday folder (The Heavens Declare the Glory of the Lord) by Tuesday, April 12th, 2022, with any needed paperwork completed, will be placed in a drawing for a bonus dress down pass for students in their family.  Congratulations to Natalie & Charlotte G. for winning this week.
