PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR for the afternoon of Friday, April 22, as we are planning a fun reunion for all former staff members of OLOSS.

CHANGES TO CALENDAR: There will be NO SCHOOL on March 21 due to Diocesan Professional Development, but we WILL be in session on Friday, March 25th. The diocese has given two additional days at Easter, which are not required to be made up. Therefore, there will be NO SCHOOL from Holy Thursday, April 14 through Wednesday, April 20th, with the 19th & the 20th being possible snow make-up days. March 10th will no longer be a half day – we will be in session a full day.

VALENTINE PARTIES: Our last party of the year will be for Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14th at 2:00 pm. We count on our great room parents to coordinate refreshments and games. You will find the list of room parents if you keep scrolling down, for planning purposes. Thank you for being great!

PLEASE JOIN US for the Catholic Schools Week planning meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 18th at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria. All are welcome along with your good ideas!

JANUARY: Our January morning prayer is The Act of Faith, and our December Christskill is Manners/Politeness.

All families returning their 21-22 Friday folder (The Heavens Declare the Glory of the Lord) by Tuesday, Jan 11th, 2022, with any needed paperwork completed, will be placed in a drawing for a bonus dress down pass for students in their family.  Congratulations to Anna & Mackenzie Berry, for winning the passes this week.

SPOTLIGHT ON STAFF – Our Lady of the Snows School is very blessed to have such devoted, hard-working, and experienced staff members who have dedicated their careers to the children and families of Our Lady of the Snows community.  We will spotlight a different staff member in the bulletin each week. This week's spotlight is on Kristina Wright, our Grades 5/6 teacher.   "Hi, my name is Kristina Wright, and I grew up just down the highway in Eldon.  I have lived in a few different places in my life, but ultimately found myself back in the Eldon area to raise my family around those that are special to both my husband and me.  I have been married to my husband, Jake, for eight years, and we have three daughters, Allyssa, McKinley, and Claire.  Most of my close family lives in the Eugene and Mary's Home area.  This is where my mom, Debbie Koetting Fair, grew up and where I spent a lot of my childhood.  I have always loved this community!  I have only recently ventured into teaching., starting as a substitute for both Our Lady of the Snows and Eldon schools.  I started substitute teaching for OLOS in 2019 when Marianna Werdehausen reached out to me in need of someone to cover her fourth grade class and that's when I fell in love with this school, its students and faculty.  It's funny, the first class that I EVER taught is now the 6th grade class that I am teaching full time.  Before teaching, I was a stay at home mom, moonlighting as a member of the Missouri Air Force National Guard.  I have also worked in advertising sales and reporting for both Vernon Publishing (Eldon Advertiser) and the Cass County Democrat in Harrisonville, Missouri.  I am in my 10th year with the Missouri Air National Guard.  My family and I stay very busy when I am not working.  I enjoy being present for all of my children's activities.  I love cheering them on in softball, cheerleading, dance, and our newest adventure, basketball.  We love to fish (I love to watch them fish), kayak, bake, and craft. I really love working with the children at Our Lady of the Snows!  I love the small class sizes, the small close knit feeling, and how you are immediately treated as family.  Everyone in this school wants you to succeed, and it shows in the way they treat each other.  We are all family, and we are all here to help the children to grow both in Christ and academically!"

PROPANE THAT PAYS… Propane is projected to cost much more this winter. Ordering early can help offset some of this cost for you. This is the time of year when many people like to fill propane tanks or prepay. If you are or would like to be a customer of Capital Energy Co, please LET THEM KNOW that you are a member of OLOS parish (They cannot issue a donation on the customer’s behalf unless the customer tells them they are a member of the parish.) The parish receives a percentage for every gallon the customer buys, and usually have some of the cheaper prices in the area. Last year the parish received nearly $1000. That’s worthwhile! Thank you for your support!

Please return your folder on Monday.

Have a wonderful winter weekend!
