SCHOOL IN SESSION! School WILL be in session on Monday, September 16th,
due to the fact that the diocese will not be sponsoring a professional
development day. Please adjust your calendar.
GRANDPARENTS DAY – THIS WEEK! Grandparents’ Day is this Wednesday, September 11th,
beginning with an all school prayer service. (Students may sit with their grandparents.)
We will then move over to the gym for fun & fellowship. The book fair will also
be open for purchases. Please let Grandma & Grandpa know now, so that they can
enjoy the morning with us. If grandparents can’t make it, feel free to ask a “substitute
grandparent” to join your child that morning. We are in need of a couple of volunteers
that morning to help with set up & to set out refreshments. If you would be
able to help, please contact Rosie in the office. Thank you!
LOADS OF FUN/PLEASANT DREAMS FUNDRAISER: We only have one week left to sell so please
keep up the sales of the soaps, softeners, & sheets. Sales end September 13th.
The school makes $15 for each item sold. If you need more order forms, they are
available from the school office. Thank you for helping make this fundraiser a
success for our technology program.
PICTURE DAY IS COMING! School pictures are scheduled for Tuesday, September 17th, and
will be taken by D & J Photography, the same as last year. Order forms are enclosed
in today’s folder. Orders for yearbooks for the current school year will be
taken at a later date.
VOLLEYBALL NEWS: Due to
the book fair on Tuesday night, there will be no practice that evening, but there
will be practice this Sunday, Sept. 8th, 2:00 – 4:00 pm. We will have
our first game, at HOME this Thursday, Sept. 12th at 7:00 pm. For
this reason, Thursday will be a School Spirit Dress Down Day, which means you may dress down in jeans
& shorts if you wear the official spirit shirt. All length requirements will
be enforced. Come on out on Thursday evening to cheer our girls on to
victory!!!
FANTASY NIGHT NEWS: With 33 school families, each family will need to work hard at selling
tickets. With 300 tickets to sell, we count on all families to get out
and sell! The “Early Bird Drawing” is September 18th (for another
ticket or $110). All tickets & money should be handled DIRECTLY through the
office/main holders/bank. Do NOT send money or tickets through the Friday
folder or through the classroom folder. If you turn your tickets into the
office or the bank, remember to let your main ticket holder know that you have
done so. Help spread the
word that we will open the doors to begin seating people at 5:30 pm (it says
6:00 on the flyer) in order to have everyone completely seated and ready to
begin dinner at 6:30 promptly. Refreshments will only be available after 6:00
pm. There will be a F. N. meeting on Monday, Sept. 16th at 6:00 pm,
in the cafeteria. All are invited!
WONDERFUL PICNIC! OLOS
School would like to thank all the people who worked so hard at our parish
picnic. The school received enough chicken & beef to serve several meals
for our lunch program, and it is much appreciated! We'd also like to
thank Mark's Mobile, for the donation of the country ham to the school, and to
Dan Gier of Eldon, who donated his raffle winnings of $100 back to the school.
We deeply appreciate the support of our parish and community!
MANY THANKS to Josh &
Shannon Lage, who donated $500 of their “Thrivent Action” funds to OLOS School.
It is much appreciated!
BOOK FAIR WORK LISTS may be found in today’s folder. We are looking forward to seeing everyone
at the Fair on Tuesday evening between 5:30 & 7:00 pm!
