GRADE CARDS are in today’s folder. Please look these over,
sign, & return. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, do not
hesitate to contact the classroom teacher.
SHILOH DANCE: The work list is in today’s folder. If you
have not already signed up, you can still help out, especially when it comes to
clean-up time!
CSW & H&S: There will be a Catholic School’s Week planning
meeting this Tuesday, January 8th at 5:45 pm. This will be followed
by a Home & School meeting for all
parents at 6:30 pm. Your child will receive a bonus dress down pass for your attendance at the Home & School meeting.
Please make plans to attend!
DUE TO THE SNOW DAY ON NOVEMBER 15TH – SCHOOL WILL
BE IN SESSION ON MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 2019.
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: Please, if you
have any new ideas for CSW jot them down and send them in, especially if you
can’t make the meeting on Tuesday night. We are in great need of new ideas for
the following days – Nation, Staff, Vocations, Community, & Students.
CHANGE YOUR MENU: This Friday, Jan. 11th,
we will serve a grilled chicken sandwich instead of the fish sandwich listed.
YEARBOOKS: If a yearbook was part of your 2017-18 picture
packet, or if you ordered one separately with the packet, you will find your
copy or copies in today’s folder.
GUN RAFFLE/EARLY BIRD DRAWING: 2019
OLOS Gun Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the school office or Mary’s
Home Bank. If you need tickets to sell, you may also contact Josh Vandike, Greg
Koetting, or Jay Harms. AS AN ADDED INCENTIVE,
THERE WILL BE AN “EARLY BIRD” DRAWING OF ALL SOLD TICKETS AT THE SHILOH DANCE
ON JANUARY 12TH. THE NAME DRAWN WILL GET AN ADDITIONAL TICKET INTO
THE MONTHLY DRAWINGS! PURCHASE YOUR TICKET NOW!!!
CLASS BASKETS: For the Italian Feast in February, each
classroom sponsors a basket, in which is placed items donated by the parents of
the classroom. You may send in an item for the basket or $5 & let the
teacher do the shopping. Each family is responsible for 1 item for the
classrooms they have children in, and also responsible for one other item to
place directly on the auction, either through solicitation or donation. (For
example, Parent A has three children in school. He/she will purchase a gift for
1st grade basket, 3rd grade basket & 7th
grade basket, and also asks their friendly
business owner for a donation or the Parent A can donate an item directly.)

K/1 – Game Night Basket (games & snacks)
2 – Gift Card Basket
3/4 – Mizzou Basket
5/6 – A Day at the Spa Basket
7/8 – Camping Basket
OLOSS “BEE” KIND CLUB: Students who were
recognized for acts of kindness and generosity on 12-14 were: PK – Esdon Koetting – sharing his crayons, Maddie St.
George – helping another student at recess, K – Oliver Hagenhoff – helping
another student with their work, 1st – Alayna Wood – being a great
classroom helper, 2nd – Karter
Lage – picking up someone’s trash in the lunchroom, 3rd – Alyssa
Eickhoff – letting another student go before her,, 4th – Avery Wood –
helping another student, 5th – Nolan Schulte – always trying to help his
friends when they have a problem,, 6th – Garet Wood – being a good friend to
everyone & having a positive attitude, Phoebe Whittle – helping in church
with an emergency, 7th –Ayden Schulte – volunteering to read during Capitol
caroling, 8th – Jordan Bittle
– stepping in for Ethan during Mass & reading, Matthew Beck – helping Mrs.
Eickhoff. 7th & 8th graders – for being such a great
help at the volunteer luncheon and for the St. Lucy activities. All acts of kindness
“bees” are displayed in the school cafeteria. (Note – the first student listed
in each grade is kindness noted by the classroom teacher. If any additional are
listed, they have been noted by other members of the staff.) Great job,
students!
THE K OF C ANNUAL FREE THROW CONTEST is
scheduled for Sunday, January 13th at 12:00 noon in the school/parish
gym. Boys & girls ages 9-14 may participate.
HELIAS CATHOLIC OPEN HOUSE: Sat., Feb. 2, 2019, 11-1 pm. At NOON that day will
also be our Incoming Freshmen Meeting in the Commons. All are welcome to visit
Helias. Take a tour, meet teachers and learn more about how we are building
saints and scholars. Additional dates for Enrollment and Registration are: Tues.,
Feb. 12 and Wed., Feb. 13, 4-6 p.m. Visit our website for more
