THE SCHOOL FUNDRAISING DANCE has been rescheduled to Sat., Feb. 9th, featuring “Whiskey Throttle”. Please find a flyer and the worker sign-up in today’s folder. Please return all sign-ups Monday in your folder. Thank you!

GUN RAFFLE/EARLY BIRD DRAWING: 2019 OLOS Gun Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the school office or Mary’s Home Bank. If you need tickets to sell, you may also contact Josh Vandike, Greg Koetting, or Jay Harms. Congratulations to the “Early Bird” winner – Lucas Kirkweg. Lucas received an additional ticket into the monthly drawings. The January drawings will be on the last day of the month, Jan. 31st, 2019.

DESSERTS NEEDED: All school families are asked to provide TWO desserts for the Italian Feast. We will not be making cheese cake this year, but you are certainly welcome to make cheese cake, or any other dessert you wish. Please send in these desserts on Friday, Feb. 1st or bring in after 10:00 am on Feb. 2nd, the day of the Italian Feast. Thank you!

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: There is an insert in today’s folder tentatively outlining planned activities for CSW. Please pay close attention to this listing, as there are several days where we are requesting items to be brought in. Please notice that we are asking each family to send in ONE DOZEN COOKIES (don’t have to be homemade) for the CSW Kickoff Mass Reception on Sunday, Jan. 17th.

YEARBOOKS: If you would like to order a copy of the 2017-18 yearbook (previous school year), please send in payment of $12 (payable to OLOS School) and we will send your order in the next Friday folder.

PARDON THE ERROR: The CSW Mass shown on the January calendar was listed as a 10:00 am Mass (Jan. 27th). This Mass will be at 8:00 am. Sorry about any confusion this may have caused.

CLASS BASKETS: For the Italian Feast in February, each classroom sponsors a basket, in which is placed items donated by the parents of the classroom. You may send in an item for the basket or $5 & let the teacher do the shopping. Each family is responsible for 1 item for the classrooms they have children in, and also responsible for one other item to place directly on the auction, either through solicitation or donation. (For example, Parent A has three children in school. He/she will purchase a gift for 1st grade basket, 3rd grade basket & 7th grade basket, and also asks their friendly business owner for a donation or the Parent A can donate an item directly.) Classroom themes are:
PK – Backyard Fun Basket
K/1 – Game Night Basket (games & snacks)
2 – Gift Card Basket
3/4 – Mizzou Basket      
5/6 – A Day at the Spa Basket
7/8 – Camping Basket

FIRST EUCHARIST for 2nd Graders will be on Sunday, May 5, 2019, 12:00 noon Mass. There will still be an 8:00 am Mass that morning. Practice for First Eucharist will be Sunday, April 28th at 9:15 am.

PRESCHOOL SIGN-UP 2019-2020: If you are interested in reserving a spot for your preschooler for the next school year, please contact Rosie in the school office. Preschool is offered daily and preference is given to families of our parish, with full-time given preference over part-time (3 days/wk). However, we usually are able to accommodate whomever has an interest. And, as always, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to call or drop in.

HELIAS CATHOLIC OPEN HOUSE: Come visit Helias for our annual Open House on Sat., Feb. 2 from 11-1. Take a look at our facilities, meet teachers, coaches and administrators, explore our activities and clubs, learn about how we are building Saints and Scholars. Incoming Freshmen/Parent meeting is at NOON during the Open House on Feb. 2. We will also have Freshmen Registration nights on Feb. 12 and 13 (pick one) from 4-6 pm, where incoming Freshmen admission process will be explained and paperwork can be filled out. All are welcome! MIDWEST MARCH FOR LIFE SATURDAY FEB 2, PLEASE MARK CALENDARS! St Andrew Life Affirming Committee/40 Days for Life is pleased to have Kristan Hawkins, President of the National Students for Life of America as the MidWest March keynote speaker on Feb 2 at the Missouri State Capitol rotunda.  Please watch for further updates or go to www.midwestmarchforlife.com or call 573 340 8444 for more information.  We have a full day planned (7:45 am to 4:00pm -- come for all or whatever is convenient for you) for families to participate. Kristan Hawkins will give a seminar especially tailored for students (6th grade to college) at St Peter's Selinger Center at 1pm to 2:45pm.  Please call the phone number to register so we may have enough materials.
