GRADE CARDS were sent home last Friday. If you have not
already done so, please sign and return your child’s grade card. As always, if you have any questions or
concerns, do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher.
SHILOH DANCE: The work list can be found on the reverse of
these notes. Remember – all help still needed at clean-up time. Thanks to all who
are helping out with this fundraiser! In regards to the possibility of snow
cancelling this event - - if that occurred, an Option C message would be sent
out to all families and a message would also be posted on the school’s and
Shiloh’s Facebook pages.
GUN RAFFLE/EARLY BIRD DRAWING: 2019
OLOS Gun Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the school office or Mary’s
Home Bank. If you need tickets to sell, you may also contact Josh Vandike, Greg
Koetting, or Jay Harms. AS AN ADDED INCENTIVE,
THERE WILL BE AN “EARLY BIRD” DRAWING OF ALL SOLD TICKETS AT THE SHILOH DANCE
ON JANUARY 12TH. THE NAME DRAWN WILL GET AN ADDITIONAL TICKET INTO
THE MONTHLY DRAWINGS! PURCHASE YOUR TICKET NOW!!!
DESSERTS NEEDED: All school families are asked
to provide a dessert for the Italian Feast. We will not be making cheese cake
this year, but you are certainly welcome to make cheese cake, or any other
dessert you wish. Please send in these desserts in on Friday, Feb. 1st
or bring in after 10:00 am on Feb. 2nd, the day of the Italian
Feast. Thank you!

DUE TO THE SNOW DAY ON NOVEMBER 15TH – SCHOOL WILL
BE IN SESSION ON MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 2019.
YEARBOOKS: If you would like to order a copy of the 2017-18
yearbook (previous school year), please send in payment of $12 (payable to OLOS
School) and we will send your order in the next Friday folder.
PARDON THE ERROR: The CSW Mass shown on the
January calendar was listed as a 10:00 am Mass (Jan. 27th). This Mass will be at 8:00 am. Sorry
about any confusion this may have caused.
DUE TO THE CHANCE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER ON FRIDAY, THE FOLDER IS BEING
SENT HOME TODAY, THURSDAY, JAN. 10TH.
CLASS BASKETS: For the Italian Feast in February, each
classroom sponsors a basket, in which is placed items donated by the parents of
the classroom. You may send in an item for the basket or $5 & let the
teacher do the shopping. Each family is responsible for 1 item for the
classrooms they have children in, and also responsible for one other item to
place directly on the auction, either through solicitation or donation. (For
example, Parent A has three children in school. He/she will purchase a gift for
1st grade basket, 3rd grade basket & 7th
grade basket, and also asks their friendly
business owner for a donation or the Parent A can donate an item directly.)
Classroom themes are:
PK – Backyard Fun Basket
K/1 – Game Night Basket (games & snacks)
2 – Gift Card Basket
3/4 – Mizzou Basket
5/6 – A Day at the Spa Basket
7/8 – Camping Basket
FIRST EUCHARIST for 2nd Graders
will be on Sunday, May 5, 2019, 12:00 noon Mass. There will still be an 8:00 am
Mass that morning. Practice for First Eucharist will be Sunday, April 28th
at 9:15 am.
THE K OF C ANNUAL FREE THROW CONTEST is
scheduled for Sunday, January 13th at 12:00 noon in the school/parish
gym. Boys & girls ages 9-14 may participate.
HELIAS CATHOLIC OPEN HOUSE: Sat., Feb. 2, 2019, 11-1 pm. At NOON that day will
also be our Incoming Freshmen Meeting in the Commons. All are welcome to visit
Helias. Take a tour, meet teachers and learn more about how we are building
saints and scholars. Additional dates for Enrollment and Registration are: Tues.,
Feb. 12 and Wed., Feb. 13, 4-6 p.m. Visit our website for more
