CHRISTMAS PLAY – AFTER SECOND MASS THIS SUNDAY! Please have your child come to the school cafeteria after second Mass
(Mass is at 10:00 am) to get ready for the play. The only exception to this
would be for the preschoolers – who
need to go to their classroom. Remember – all students not in costume should
wear their Sunday best/school dress code – NO JEANS! Hope to see a big turnout
on Sunday!
HOMEMADE COOKIES/CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: We asked all school families send
in two dozen homemade cookies to serve as refreshments for the school Christmas
program. IF YOU DID NOT SEND YOURS ON FRIDAY YOU MAY
BRING THEM TO THE PLAY!
SANTA STORE: The Santa Store is scheduled for Tuesday,
December 13th. We are in need of volunteers to be “Santa’s elves” –
wrapping presents & helping students shop. Please let Rosie know if you can
help out. Thanks to Dianne Goetz, Debbie Schulte, Christina Eickhoff, Danen
Horseman, & Tracey Backes for volunteering – but we need a few more! WE ALSO REALLY NEED MORE ITEMS! Please send
in any you may have accumulated/purchased and any giftbags you may have. Help is also needed to set up the Santa
Store on Sunday, December 11th, after the 10:00 am Mass. Thank
you for your support!
CHRISTMAS PARADE FLOAT NEWS:
The Eldon Christmas Parade is at 3:00 pm
next Saturday, December 10th. Lineup is at 2:00 pm on Second Street,
behind the high school gym. There is a map of the parade route at the end of
these notes for your convenience. We have approximately 10 students signed up
to ride this float, but if you still want your child to ride, just send a note
to the office. Jay Harms is inviting all riders and families to his home for a
pre-parade hot dog luncheon at 12:00 noon. If you would be able to join them,
just give Jay a call for directions 573-746-0226. More information may be found
on our Facebook page.
The Mary’s Home Christmas Parade is
scheduled for Saturday, December 17th, after the 5:00 pm Mass. The parade begins at 6:30 pm, and the floats
will be lining up at the KC ball field around 6:00 pm. If you go to 5:00 pm
Mass, your child can still ride the float, but you may consider carpooling kids
together because it may be harder to get in with so many vehicles congregating.
So far, we have approximately 22 children riding, with several offers to
chaperone. If your child wants to ride, please send a note to the office. Also – we will need donations of candy to
throw. Please send to school office. Thanks to those who sent in already
and thank you for your support!
GIFT TAGS for the Santa Store are in today’s folder.
Please help your child fill these out for up to five people they wish to shop
for and return no later than Monday, December 12th – but the sooner
the better!
CHRISTMAS GIFTS: This year, students will be
exchanging gifts within the classroom. Girls should buy for girls and boys buy
for boys – with the value of the gift being $5. They will exchange their gifts
at the Christmas party on Wed., Dec. 21st. We will also have a
special visitor that morning around 9:00 am!
TIS THE SEASON TO GIVE…The Student
Council will be sponsoring a food drive from December 12th through
December 19th. There will be a contest to see which classroom
donates the most. Class size will be taken into consideration and we will go by
the average. Students in the winning classroom will receive a bonus dress down
day. So show your CHRISTMAS SPIRIT and GIVE!
BABY SHOWER FOR JESUS: On Tuesday, the
preschoolers and Brittany Massman will be sponsoring a baby shower for Jesus,
to benefit the pro-life cause. They have invited their big pals (8th
graders) to help them celebrate the birth of Jesus by bringing a baby item.
Though they will be having their own little party, they invite anyone who would
like to donate to send a gift in – all in support of life!
PRESCHOOL ENROLLMENT: If you are
interested in enrolling your child in preschool after Christmas, please contact
the school office as soon as possible. We have three openings available, on a
first come, first served basis. We need plenty of time before we break for
Christmas to make room adjustments and process paperwork – please no last-minute
requests!
ITALIAN FEAST NEWS: The next Italian
Feast meeting will be December 13th at 6:30 in the computer lab. We
will pack up the Santa Store during this meeting. Each student is asked to
bring in an item for their classroom basket valued at $5 or more no later than
Jan. 20th. Class basket themes are as follows:

movie)
