PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES:  Conference assignments are in today’s folder. Please be prompt to your meeting, and remember that time slots are ten minutes. If you need more time, please schedule with the classroom teacher at a later date. If your child’s name is not on the list, we have not received your sign-up. Please contact the school office on MONDAY. Remember – no grade cards will be sent home; parents must conference with the classroom teacher.

PIONEER DAY: Thanks so much to our wonderful helpers: Mike & Suzie Haeffner, Matt & Brittany Goetz, Melissa Koetting, Kim Evers, Laura Vandike, Kyle Kliethermes, Brianna Kliethermes, Bryan Evers, Matt Haeffner, Amy Hagenhoff, Wendy Whittle, and Sam C. Beck. It was a great day and we appreciate your willingness to give your day up for the benefit of our students!

DONUTS WITH DAD: It was great to see several dads here before school on Thursday, enjoying donuts with their children, and many going on to Mass as well. What a huge statement these dads make to their children and to all of our
students by sharing the morning with them! Thank you!

DRIVERS NEEDED: The 7th & 8th graders will be visiting Helias High School on the morning of Thursday, November 13th. We are asking for drivers for these fifteen students. Please contact Mr. Vandike if you would be able to help out.

HALLOWEEN PARTIES/WALK:  Have you returned your child’s Halloween permission form? If not, you will find another copy enclosed. Please fill out and return on MONDAY. All students are invited and encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for the walk, but please no scary, evil or gory costumes. The walk should begin at 1:00 pm, with the parties afterward. Room parents – the teachers depend on you to plan activities and refreshments for the party. Please feel free to contact any classroom parent to help provide things needed for the party. The students will all have the opportunity to visit the “Haunted House”, sponsored by the 7th & 8th graders, if they so choose. We promise not to scare the little ones!

STUDENT COUNCIL: Due to being unable to find a leader, there will be no Student Council this year.

COKE PRODUCTS: The school will begin collecting the Coke Rewards codes, found inside the cardboard container and caps of Coke products. Please clip these and send them in. The school can earn items for the school with redemption.

VOLLEYBALL NEWS:  The 4/5 girls won their first game against St. Joe a couple weeks ago, 10/4. They won all three sets with scores at 19-25, 7-25, and 14-25. They won again last weekend, 10/11, against St. Martin’s. They won the first two 22-25 and 13-25. We ran out of time in the 3rd set. They are playing so good! We congratulate them on these exciting wins!

BOX TOPS:  Please send in all Box Tops and Best Choice labels that you may have accumulated. We will be sending them in for redemption at the end of October. Thank you!

READING COUNTS: Remember – once your child earns the 75 point Reading Counts T-shirt, he/she may wear it at any time in lieu of their regular dress code collared shirt. They must however, still follow dress code for pants/shorts/skirt.

COLLECTION ENVELOPES FOR THURSDAY MASS: Each Thursday, the students have the opportunity to place their offering in the collection. If you need collection envelopes at home, please let us know & some will be sent home. We also have them available in the cafeteria for student use.

SUBS NEEDED AT OLOS SCHOOL: 60 college hours required. Please think of anyone you know who might be interested and let them know about this opportunity. We have very limited substitute help. Please contact Mrs. Werdehausen for more information.

DEADLINE FOR FRIDAY NOTES:
Thursdays, 9:00 am. All non-school related flyers need to be copied ahead of time on paper (the school cannot afford to supply paper for outside events). Upon approval by the principal, the information will then be placed in the Friday folder as a courtesy. It is not appropriate for the school to send out extraneous information that can be handled other ways. Also, if you have items for the Friday notes, please write these items up, send them in, or email them to rosie@radiowire.net (call to let me know you have emailed please). I don’t mind doing a little editing and rewording, but the bulk of the item should be outlined with details.
