SOCK DAY:  This Monday, Oct. 28th, students are invited to wear their brightest Halloween socks with rolled up pants (can also just be solid black, orange, etc). If you don’t have a pair, you can usually find these at the Dollar stores. This is a dress down day, but you may only dress down if you wear those Halloween socks!

IT’S GETTING COLDER!!! Please make sure your child brings a jacket to school each day – sometimes it may not seem too cold, but out on the playground it can be pretty nippy! Please make sure to mark your child’s name in their jacket. Each year, we seem to accumulate 10-15 jackets in the lost and found. Someone is buying a lot of replacement jackets!
STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS: We are selling Halloween suckers & candy corn guesses for a quarter each. If you pick the sucker with the color on the bottom you will win a prize!

ROOM PARENTS & HALLOWEEN PLANS:  We always count on our room parents to take care of the games and refreshments for the school parties. It’s time now to be thinking about Halloween! We sent home a list of room parents last week. Feel free to contact parents that are not on the list to provide refreshments. On the afternoon of Halloween, the students are invited to dress in their costume for our annual “Halloween Walk” around town, beginning at 1:30, after which we will enjoy the classroom parties.

ALL SAINTS DAY is this Friday, Nov. 1st. This is a Holy Day of Obligation and all students and staff will be attending Mass that morning. If you arrive after 7:50 with your child, please bring him/her to church. This will be a bonus dress down day. In celebration of All Saints, students are invited to dress as their favorite saint that day. If they do, they will receive a BONUS DRESS DOWN PASS to be used at a later date. You may still dress down if you don’t dress as a saint, but if not dressed as a saint, you will not receive the bonus pass.

VOLLEYBALL UNIFORMS – Younger girls’ team  - please turn in your uniforms (in a bag with name). Congratulations on winning one of your sets last weekend!  Good luck to the JV team, playing in the Catholic Bowl this weekend!

DEDICATION OF FLAGPOLE: There will be a memorial dedication service for Kenny Koetting at 4:00 pm this Sunday at the flagpole, with a reception following in the cafeteria. All are invited to attend.
CEREAL BOXES NEEDED: Please send any empty cereal boxes you may have to school next week. Missy would like to use them for an upcoming art project. Thank you!

SELF STUDY: Mrs. Werdehausen will host the informational kick-off meeting on Tuesday, October 29th at 6:30 in the school cafeteria. ALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING. The self-study process must be completed by January to begin the compilation of the paperwork. The self-study visiting team (consisting of area principals) is scheduled to be here April 6-8.

MANDATORY COACHES’ MEETING: There will be a coaches’ meeting this Tuesday, Oct. 29th at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. This will be a short meeting before the Self-study meeting. All coaches please make plans to attend.

JV GIRLS BASKETBALL PRACTICES will begin on Monday, November 4th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. If you have any questions, please contact Stacey Evers @ 573.498.6112.

INCOME FROM GAMES 10/19: Gate – $99,
Concession - $73

NEEDED: Baby bottles. In the future we will be using these to collect change for the Crisis Pregnancy Center. Please send any that you may have to the office. Thank you!

COOKIE DOUGH:  We are in need of help to sort and fill orders the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 5th. Thanks to Patsy Bond and Ashley Burnett for volunteering. If you wish to volunteer, please send a note or call the office. We usually start with sorting just after noon.

RADA & THAT’’S MY PAN fundraising packets will be coming home on November 1st. This will ensure that orders are received for Christmas gifting.

THANKSGIVING MEAL: On Thursday, Nov. 21st we will have our school’s Thanksgiving meal with parents. This will be from 11:00 to 12:00. Students may have no more than TWO GUESTS PER FAMILY (is for parents, but grandparents or others may sub in). Reservation/payment forms will be available in the very near future through the Friday folder.
AUTO CLINGS:  Do you have an OLOS School vinyl cling on your vehicle? Perhaps you do and it’s looking a little shabby? Do you need another for a 2nd vehicle? Maybe you’re a new OLOS family and haven’t had the opportunity to get one. Now here’s your chance! Order forms were recently sent home, but if you’ve misplaced yours, please call the office. These look really nice on vehicles and are a great way to show support for OLOS School! UPCOMING – OLOS SPORTS CLINGS – Be watching the Friday folder for order forms!

CHEER COACH NEEDED – Please call the office with your offer to help.

SCRUMPTIOUS BREAKFAST! The Fundraising Committee will be sponsoring a breakfast on Sunday, November 17th to raise money for the Reading Counts trip. Tickets were sent home last week for pre-sales. Tickets will also be available at the door. Remember, your child will receive a bonus dress down pass if you sell tickets or help with the breakfast! Thank you for your fundraising efforts!
