READING COUNTS FIELD TRIP NEWS:  The Reading Counts Field Trip will be on Monday, May 9th (this is a state holiday). Grades PK – 2nd will be going to Miner Mikes at Osage Beach (maze only) from 9-11 am. The 3-8 grades will be going to Laser Force, at Lake Ozarks, from 9:30-11:00 am. Each student will get to play two games (20 minutes each) in groups of 24. Arcade games will be available at Laser Force, but the student will need to bring extra spending money if they play these games. Lunch will be at a local park. Then all the students will enjoy an afternoon movie at the Lodge of the Four Season (from 12:30 – 2:30), with popcorn & soda included in the price. We should be back to school by 3:15-3:30 pm. There will be a fee for each child to attend ($8-10 range?). We will keep you updated as plans are finalized.

The OLOS Student Council will be sponsoring a “Dress In Green” Day for St. Patrick’s Day again this year. We thought we would get the word out early so that you have more of a chance to be creative and find “green” items. We will choose best dressed winners from each class – one boy & one girl. St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th. Thanks to all who supported our Valentine Candygram sales. You are appreciated!

Congratulations to Aubrey Smith (new little preschooler) who was proud BIG brother to new little sister Maddison(?) this week. Maddison weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long. Congratulations to the entire family!

CALLING ALL GREEN THUMBS AND WILLING WORKERS:  We need to form a gardening committee again. It would be nice to have one night planned to get bushes cut back & everything tidied up for Spring and then form a weekly rotation, as we did last year, to keep weeds in check and do the watering. Contact the school office if you would be able to help out.

Mrs. Groose is selling BEEF STICKS at lunchtime. They are $1 each.

LOOKING AHEAD…We will host our BOOKFAIR NIGHT – “A Night of Magic” – on Thursday, March 24th. We will have a magician performing that evening and many other exciting things. A BOOKFAIR BREAKFAST is also planned for Sunday, March 20th. Mark your calendars now & make plans to attend and support these exciting school events!

Spring Ahead! Don’t forget – time changes this weekend. Set your clocks up one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.
