WHAT A WONDERFUL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK!!! The OLOS School staff & students wholeheartedly enjoyed this week, so full of treats, fun, and good information. We so very much appreciate all the efforts of the committee, the parents, and of course, our students for all the treats and food. We also appreciate the support of our parish and community. Thank you! We look forward to seeing all our school families at the 10:00 am Mass on Sunday, to help us celebrate and conclude CSW 2024!
DUE TO VALENTINE’S DAY falling on Ash Wednesday (day of fast and abstinence), the Valentine’s parties are scheduled for this Friday, Feb. 9th from 2:15 – 3:15 pm.
THE STUDENT COUNCIL is
sponsoring Valentine Grams – with candy or a salty treat for $1.00 each.
Forms were sent home last week, but if you need additional copies, let us know
on Monday. All orders are due Tuesday, Feb. 6th. Thank you
for supporting the Student Council!
ART CLUB: The first meeting of our newly formed art club will be this Monday, Feb. 5th, from 3:30 – 4:30 pm for those who have turned in permission forms. This will be led by Mrs. Hoecker.
RESCHEDULED DANCE: The fundraising dance has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, featuring the Ryan Voss Band. Pizza Quick will also be on hand. The proceeds will be used for gym repair. Flyers are enclosed in today’s folder.
PENNY WARS! What a week of tense
competition! As the totals change daily, more and more classes worried about
their negative balances, while the preschoolers, for the most part, enjoyed no
sabotage (who has the heart to sabotage preschoolers?). The staff was definitely
singled out as the group to work against with all the cash & silver thrown
in by other grades. Ask your kids who won the “war”, as the winner was
announced at 3:00 on Friday. Fundraising will continue through this school
year to raise money to build a school in Uganda.
OLOS SCIENCE FAIR: The 5th through 8th graders are working hard on getting their projects finished up. We will have them on display at the VIP Day on April 10th. Three projects/presenters will show their projects at the diocesan fair on March 1st in Taos. More details will be available soon. We look forward to seeing all their interesting projects!
SHOW ME SUDS Fundraiser began last week. This is a great opportunity to help our school and parish youth by selling and purchasing quality laundry detergents, dish soaps, dishwasher pods, and dryer sheets. Order forms with payments must be returned by Friday, February 19th. All products will be available for pickup on Sunday, February 25th. Contact Joan Doerhoff or the school office for more information. Thank you for your continued support in our school and parish youth!
GYM PAINTING PROJECT: The gymnasium will be under repair/painting from mid-February to mid-March. No activities will be allowed in the gym. ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL OF STUDENTS will be through the classroom hallway doors near the annex.
