GYM PAINTING: The gym is currently undergoing drywall and general wall repair, in anticipation of repainting. We are planning to paint the gym on March 12, 13, and 14. If needed, we will have additional work nights on March 18 and 19. Start time will be 5:00 pm (or after work). A light meal will be provided. We are also in need of someone to supervise the playground for those who may have small children who could help paint. Please let us know if you can supervise. We depend on all school families and parishioners to keep our facilities in good shape. Please plan on joining the “paint party”. You can log your service hours towards the 20 needed for this school year. Thank you!
MEET AND GREET!!! Our Lady of the Snows School is hosting a Meet & Greet event on Monday, March 11, 2024 @ 5:30 pm. All new students, interested families, and current families, are invited to join us for a short gathering at 5:30 and a light meal at 6:00 pm. You will be able to meet your child's teacher, learn about the online admissions process, and get important information about our little school. OLOS serves students from preschool age (3 years by Aug. 1, 2024) through eighth grade. Our mission is to provide a quality Catholic education and to develop the whole person in a faith-filled Catholic environment. If you have any questions, please call the school office @ 573-498-3574. We look forward to visiting with you that evening!
HOME & SCHOOL: There will be a Home & School meeting at 6:15 pm, directly following the Meet & Greet, on March 11th. All current families and visitors are invited to stay for this meeting to see what great things are happening in our school!
EASTER EGG HUNT! We will have our traditional Easter Egg Hunt on Tuesday, April 2, the day we come back from Easter break. The eggs will be provided by donors again this year.
DRIVERS NEEDED! We would like to send all of our 6th & 7th graders to the Vocations Day on Wednesday, May 1st, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Columbia. Last year, the 6th graders were unable to attend. Please, if you are able to drive, let us know as soon as possible so that we are able to make reservations for our students.
7th GRADE FAMILIES - GRADUATION INFO: It is a tradition at OLOS School for the 7th grade parents and students to sponsor the 8th grade graduation reception. While all 7th grade families are expected to help, we usually ask for one or two people to organize it. Thank you to Jeana Pringer for being the first to offer to coordinate, and to Christina Eickhoff, for her offer to help! Please consider helping Jeana coordinate graduation plans and contact us with your offer to help. (Graduation – Sat., Apr. 27 - 4:00 pm Mass)
COLE R-V FRESHMAN ORIENTATION for incoming freshman will be at Cole R-V on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm (location in building TBA).
COLE R-V COUNSELOR VISIT: We are in the process of coordinating a visit by the high school counselor to visit with our students and parents at OLOS this spring before Freshman Orientation. We will let you know when we get this on the calendar.
8th GRADE MASS at Cathedral of St. Joseph, Jefferson City. The diocese intends to begin a tradition of having all 8th graders from our diocese come together for a special Mass at the end of each school year. This Mass is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024, which is after our 8th graders are dismissed for the school year. 8th grade parents are encouraged to take their 8th grader. Mass will be mid-morning with lunch provided afterward. More information will be forthcoming. Please let us know if your child will attend so that we may RSVP.
OLOS SCIENCE FAIR: The 5th through 8th graders are working hard on getting their projects finished up. We will have them on display at the VIP Day on April 10th. Two projects/presenters will show their projects at the Diocesan Fair today, March 1st in Taos. Congratulations to Shane B. & Jacob B, for being selected to represent our school at the diocesan fair! Good luck, boys!
FUNDRAISING DANCE & PIZZA! The fundraising dance has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, featuring the Ryan Voss Band. Pizza Quick will also be on hand. The proceeds will be used for gym repair. Additional flyers are available in the school office. UPDATE OF PIZZA KWIK! The time has been adjusted to serving from 11:00 am through 9:00 pm out on the parking lot, to serve your lunchtime needs as well as your dinner!
2023-2024 YEARBOOK: Yearbooks for the 23-24 school year will be available in August and must be pre-ordered. Please see the order form enclosed in today’s folder for more details.
