WELCOME NEW STUDENT! We welcome Jaelyn Evers to the First Grade. We are excited to have you join our school family!

OPEN HOUSE: Thank you to all who visited Our Lady of the Snows Open House/Meet & Greet on March 3.  We welcome all new families, current families, community members, and prospective preschool and Kindergarten families to visit with us anytime to find out more about what our wonderful school has to offer!  Current school families may even earn a recruitment bonus of $25 (off next year's school registration fees) for new school families!

INCOME FROM RECENT BALLGAMES: Gate: 269.00, Concessions: 174.25. Thank you for supporting our team!

SPORTS PICTURES are this Tuesday morning. If you have not already done so, please send your child’s clean uniform in a marked bag on Monday so that we know we have them for the group pictures. It is no fun to get a call at the last minute, with a group waiting on you for clothing. On Tuesday, please make sure your child has everything else they would need for the pictures – sports shoes, socks, t-shirts, etc. We would LOVE it if our coaches would be able to be in the group shots – probably around 8:15 am.

BASKETBALL: We were recently contacted by a family who left a basketball in our gym after the last games. It was a Wilson Evolution with blue lettering. Some students said they saw it, but we cannot find it with our set. If you have any information, please call the office, as the family would like to get it back; it was fairly expensive.

END OF THIRD QUARTER is today, Friday, March 4th. On Wednesday, 3/9, all students K through 8th graders will bring home a sign-off slip in their folder from the classroom, with the Grade Card being accessed through the FACTS family portal. No family folder will be sent home from the office next week, due to the short week.

To access the grade card on your family portal - after signing in, please follow the following steps: (student ID – ols-mo)

On left, click “Student”

On left, directly under “Grades” click “Report Card”

If you have more than one student, you can switch between grade cards in the upper middle of the screen.

CHANGE OF MENU: On Tuesday, we will serve Pigs in the Blanket instead of the hot dog on a bun.

CHOIR PRACTICE will now be on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 3:30 pm.

SHORT SCHOOL WEEK! There will be NO SCHOOL on Thurs., Mar. 10, for Professional Development on reading strategies with Dr. Paul Hanna and on Fri., Mar. 11 for a staff retreat with Father Sunoj Thomas. Please pray for our teachers as they strive to learn new teaching strategies on Thursday and take the day Friday to step back from daily demands to (as they say), “retreat” from the ordinary to experience the extraordinary love of God.

ELECTIVE COURSES! Thank you to our volunteers who are leading minicourses to our students:  Jason Bittle-Bowling, Chuck Berendzen-Woodworking, Mary Burgess-Quilting, Steve Jannetti-Gardening, Matilda O'Connor & Gabriela Tolosa Ramirez-Coding for Kids, Tammy Witherspoon-Journalism, and Marianna Werdehausen-Painting.

CHANGES TO CALENDAR: There will be NO SCHOOL on March 21 due to Diocesan Professional Development, but we WILL be in session on Friday, March 25th. We WILL be in session on April 19th & 20th, snow make-up days.  Additionally, on March 10th, school will NOT be in session, due to professional development. We were already scheduled off for Friday, March 11th.

WATER NEEDED: The school has been having to purchase water. This is an expense that can be easily offset by making sure your child brings his/her own water bottle each day. Funds are being taken from the expense category of “Student Activities”, which may limit future opportunities for our students. Thanks for the recent donation of water by one school family! We so not want to charge students for the occasional forgotten water bottle, but if the trend continues, a charge may be established. Thank you!

SIGN UP FOR GERBES COMMUNITY REWARDS:  OLOS is enrolled in the Gerbes “Community Rewards” program. This program offers money back to our school, based on enrolled customer’s spending. It is a really easy process. You just tie your Gerbes shopper’s card to our school account. If you don’t have a Gerbes shopper’s card, it takes less than a minute to get one at the store and also online. All the information needed to complete this process is online. @ www.gerbes.com/communityrewards. Our school code is TU152. It takes just a couple minutes so get all your family and friends to register as well! The school will receive quarterly payments in cash form. We will update you as we receive those funds. This has the potential to be a great moneymaker for the school – the key is to get many, many people involved. No selling needed! Please pass the word to family and friends and thanks for supporting OLOS School!!! We recently received $38.76, this quarter earnings

TRACK COACH NEEDED: We have several students who are interested in participating in track this spring. However, we are in need of a track coach. Please contact Mrs. Burgess.

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR for the afternoon of Friday, April 22, as we are planning a fun reunion for all former staff members of OLOSS.

MARCH: Our March morning prayer is The Act of Hope, and our March Christskill is Perseverence.

MANY THANKS…Thank you to all of the "Kliethermes Girls", Kathleen Haeffner, Emily Kliethermes,  Marianna Werdehausen, & Amy Williams, for all of their help in leveling the school library's chapter books! Wish List thanks:  Thank you to Billy Braun for his donation of several balls for our students to use at recess!  The kids love them!

YOUR CHANCE TO WIN DRESS DOWN PASSES! All families returning their 21-22 Friday folder (The Heavens Declare the Glory of the Lord) by Tuesday, March 9th, 2022, with any needed paperwork completed, will be placed in a drawing for a bonus dress down pass for students in their family.  Congratulations to Braden Evers, for winning this week.

SUBS NEEDED! We are in great need of subs for both the classrooms and in the kitchen. Please contact Mrs. Burgess if you, or someone you know, might be interested.

LOOKING A WEEK AHEAD! Due to the short week, no weekly folder will be coming home from the office on Wednesday. In looking at the following week, please remember that students may dress down in green on Thursday, March 17, the only dress down day in Lent.

SPOTLIGHT ON STAFF – Our Lady of the Snows School is very blessed to have such devoted, hard-working, and experienced staff members who have dedicated their careers to the children and families of Our Lady of the Snows community.  We will spotlight a different staff member in the bulletin each week. This week's spotlight is on This week's spotlight is on Cindy McKenna, our head cook.  "Hi, my name is Cindy McKenna.  I was born and raised in St. Charles County.  I graduated from Wentzville High School in 1999 and went to Allied Medical School.  My parents were Pat and Mike Voegelie.  I have two older sisters, Sandy & Shelly, and two older brothers, Mike and John.  I have been married to Brett McKenna for almost 16 years, and we have three sons, Austin 23, Lane 11, & Colton 5.  We moved to Mary's Home in 2014. I worked in the dental field for twelve years and then stayed home with Lane.  I have worked off and on since 2014, including being a preschool aide, an afterschool caregiver, and a member of the cafeteria staff.  I enjoy fishing, camping, traveling, hunting and being outside when I am not working.  I like Our Lady of the Snows because of the small class sizes, the staff, the kids, and the small community.  I enjoy being with my own kids at school."
