blue or camo to show their support of our vets.

MUFFINS WITH MOM THIS WEEK! Calling all moms!
Now it’s time for you to enjoy a morning at school! Please come this Wednesday,
November 14th. We will
celebrate Mass and afterwards move over to school for fun and fellowship. If
mom can’t make it, a “substitute mom” may attend. We look forward to having our
moms at school!
BOYS BASKETBALL: Please
send back packets sent home last week. Packets
are to be filled out completely by you and your player. This packet, along with
a current physical & the $20 per family sports fee, must be on file in the
school office in order for the athlete to participate in practices.
SANTA STORE: We will have a Santa Store on Tuesday, December 18th, and are asking for donations. Donated items may
be new or gently used - items for moms, dad, siblings, grandparents, etc. We
usually run short on men and boy
items. Please send any donation anytime. WE ALSO NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR THE SANTA
STORE – FROM APPROXIMATELY 9:30 – 10:00 TO 3:00 PM. Please call Rosie if you
would be able to help out – it is so much FUN!
SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: Thursday, December 6th at 6:30
pm. The make-up date will be Sunday, December 9th
at 10:30 am. Please have your children
to school by 6:00 pm so that they have time to get ready.
COOKIES FOR THE PLAY: As is our custom,
we are asking each school family to send in two-dozen homemade cookies, to serve after the play. Please send in
on Wednesday or Thursday, Dec. 5th or 6th. Home &
School & School Board officers are in charge of refreshment prep. &
serving.
BLESS THE BABY JESUS! OLOSS students
will be able to bring the Baby Jesus from your home Nativity set to Mass on
Wednesday, December 19th for blessing. Father Alex will do this blessing
sometime during the Mass that morning. If you do not have or do not wish your
child to bring a fragile piece, an order form was sent home last week. We would
like all school children to have a Baby Jesus to bless.
ATTENTION PARENTS OF OLOSS ATHLETES: A parent of each athlete in our school MUST attend a “Play Like a Champion”
training in order for their child to play sports this school year. The next
offered training is at St. Francis Xavier, Taos on November 14th,
from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. There is a $10
charge, to be paid by the parent. Please let Mr. Vandike if you are
attending, so that enough materials are available that night. There is also a three-hour
mandatory coaches training on Tuesday, November 13th, from 5:30 –
8:30 pm at Taos. The school will cover the $25 cost of this training.
MARY’S HOME CHRISTMAS PARADE! Enclosed in today’s
folder you will find a parade flyer. The parade will be on December 22nd.
We would like the school to have a float
in the parade, so if you are willing to head this up, and know of a trailer
we can use, please let Mr. Vandike know, so that we can start getting prepared.
CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATED! Goldschmidt
Cancer Center extends their thanks & appreciation to Mrs. Werdehausen’s 7th
& 8th graders, who decorated a tree with handmade ornaments, to
honor those who work with cancer patients or have been touched by cancer. Trees
from area schools/organizations will be on display this weekend at the
Goldschmidt/Cap. Reg. Campus in Jefferson City. Nice job, students!
UPCOMING MEETINGS: There will

GERBES:
OLOS is enrolled in the Gerbes “Community Rewards” program. This program
offers money back to our school, based on enrolled customer’s spending. It is a
really easy process. You just tie your Gerbes shopper’s card to our school
account. If you don’t have a Gerbes shopper’s card, it takes less than a minute
to get one at the store and also online. All the information needed to complete
this process is online. @ www.gerbes.com/communityrewards.
Our school code is 48253. It takes
just a couple minutes so get all your family and friends to register as well!
The school will receive quarterly payments in cash form. We will update you as
we receive those funds. This has the potential to be a huge moneymaker for the school
– the key is to get many, many people involved. Please pass the word to family
and friends and thanks for supporting OLOS School!!!
VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS: Please return your uniform as
soon as possible. Place them in a bag with your name on them. They will be kept
in the office until it is time to take team pictures.
