PROGRESS REPORTS: Today in this folder you will find your child’s midterm report or a sign-off sheet. Students in Grades K-2 receive a mid-term report and students’ reports in Grades 3-8 are to be viewed online at www.optionc.com, with our school code – 8085 – and your individual username and password. Please sign & return the enclosed report/form on Monday. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher.

8TH GRADE NEWS: Freshman Orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 25th at Cole R-V, from 5:30 – 8:30 in the Performing Arts Center.

READING COUNTS ends THIS WEDNESDAY, April 25th. Your child must have reached 200 points by this date in order to attend the R. C. trip. The date for the trip is set for Tuesday, May 8th. We will be going to the Wonders of Wildlife Adventure Aquarium (Bass Pro) in Springfield, MO by bus. Parents are invited to go along and may transport their own child/ren, and ONLY their own child/ren, and then sign in at the aquarium. Only teachers and students will ride the bus. Only students, staff, parents may attend this trip – sorry – no younger siblings. Other plans are being finalized. We do know that the cost for each child will be $10 for aquarium and have not determined how much of that cost will be passed on to parent. Also, parents’ admittance fee will be approximately $27 (plus tax?) and will need to be paid at the entrance. This is a 10% reduction on the normal rate of $29.95. More details to follow. In addition to the trip, your child receives one entrance into the class drawing for a gift card for every 25 points over 200 that they earn.

STUDENTS not attending the Reading Counts trip will remain at school, under the supervision of a classroom teacher, and do school work, as a normal day.

TRACK NEWS: The track team did great on Wednesday night, despite a very cold and windy evening! The girls won two medals, one for the 4X2, and one for the distance medley. Way to make tracks Cougars!

MENU CHANGE: Please change your menu by reversing the meals on April 23rd & 25th. We will have the Sausage & egg meal on the 23rd and the chicken wrap meal on the 25th.

UNPAID FEES: Final grade cards (and transfer of records, graduation diplomas) will only be issued to students whose fees are paid in full. This includes, but is not limited to: sustaining fees, lost library books fees, preschool and extended care fees, school support, lunch fees, rule violation fees, lost textbook fees, etc.
