CONGRATULATIONS to the thirteen students attending the Spelling Bee at St. Martin’s School on Tuesday! Those attending were: Oliver Burrows, Austin Doerhoff, Nolan Schulte, Deanna Backes, Emma Goetz, Garet Wood, Aly Haeffner, Ethan Schulte, Aliyah Talledo, Jordan Bittle, Macy Adrian, Sara Beck, & Gracie Evers. Special congratulations to Emma, for placing fifth in her grade, and Sara, for placing third in her grade. There were 22 schools competing. Way to go Spelling Bee team! Special thanks to Mrs. Haeffner, for the time and dedication involved in all the planning and practices.

FINAL LUNCH BILL: Today we are sending out final lunch bills. This is the last billing for this school year. If you didn’t receive one, then you are paid up through the end of the year.  Please remit payment due as soon as possible. Remember – all school fees must be paid in full by the end of the school year.

8TH GRADE NEWS: Freshman Orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 25th at Cole R-V, from 5:30 – 8:30 in the Performing Arts Center. Jess Adrian will be meeting with our four eighth graders this Friday, April 20th from 8:00 – 9:00 am, before picture taking. Permission forms are in today’s folder for picture taking, along with the cap & gown pmt. form.

READING COUNTS ends Wednesday, April 25th. Your child must have reached 200 points by this date in order to attend the R. C. trip. The date for the trip is set for Tuesday, May 8th. We will be going to the Wonders of Wildlife Adventure Aquarium (Bass Pro) in Springfield, MO by bus. Parents are invited to go along and may transport their own child/ren, and ONLY their own child/ren, and then sign in at the aquarium. Only teachers and students will ride the bus. Only students, staff, parents may attend this trip – sorry – no younger siblings. Other plans are being finalized. We do know that the cost for each child will be $10 for aquarium and have not determined how much of that cost will be passed on to parent. Also, parents’ admittance fee will be approximately $27 (plus tax?) and will need to be paid at the entrance. This is a 10% reduction on the normal rate of $29.95. More details to follow. In addition to the trip, your child receives one entrance into the class drawing for a gift card for every 25 points over 200 that they earn.

STUDENTS not attending the Reading Counts trip will remain at school, under the supervision of a classroom teacher, and do school work, as a normal day.

ON THURSDAY, along with Mass, we will be celebrating the baptisms of Alyssa & Eli Eickhoff. After Mass their family will be treating the whole school with refreshments in the school cafeteria. We congratulate Eli & Alyssa, as they take their first step of initiation into the Catholic faith.

TRAFFIC FLOW/PICK-UP/DROP-OFF: If you are bringing students in to school, or if you wish to enter the school building, please do not park in the drop-off line in the mornings. Please park in the parking lot, and walk in. Failure to do so results in traffic tie-ups. Also, remember, all vehicles are to EXIT VIA THE CEMETERY ROAD. Thank you for abiding by these policies.
