If your name is not on the list and you are able to help, please show up and check in with Lynn Morgan. Extra help is mostly needed on the last shift, with trash and clean-up in the kitchen.

HALLOWEEN PARTIES/ROOM PARENTS: We count on our room parents to provide games, snacks, and drinks for our three classrooms parties each year – Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. Class lists are in today’s folder for treats.  PLEASE NOTE: Due to Halloween falling on a Monday, the preschoolers will enjoy a party and short parade to the classrooms on Thursday, Oct. 27th, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. They are invited to walk with us around town on Monday, the 31st as well, but MUST HAVE A PARENT WITH THEM AND ALSO FILL OUT A PERMISSION FORM FOR THEM. The “Walk” on Halloween will begin at 1:30 pm. PERMSSION FORMS FOR THE WALK ARE IN TODAY’S FOLDER. Thanks to the businesses/people that “treat” our students on the walk.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN-UP is in today’s folder. Please fill out and return by Monday, October 17th.

STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS: Next week, the Student Council will be collecting items to send to our troops with their “Fall into Giving” campaign. More information may be found in today’s folder. Council members please plan on attending the meeting Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

SCHOOL PORTRAITS: School pictures are this Tuesday, October 11th. THIS IS A DRESS UP FOR PICTURE DAY. All sleeve and length requirements are still in force. Picture order envelopes are in today’s folder. Please return these on MONDAY, in your Friday folder. EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT ORDERING, PLEASE FILL OUT IN THE INFORMATION AT THE TOP OF THE FORM IN STEP 1 AND RETURN TO THE OFFICE. You will have the opportunity to order later, even if you do not choose to order now. If you have more than one child, and wish to make only one payment, please note specifically on each child’s envelope in whose envelope – and what grade – the payment is enclosed. Younger siblings may be photographed, but plan on being at the school office by 7:45 so that we may work your child in before the classes start coming for pictures.

HELIAS VISIT: The 7th & 8th graders are visiting Helias this Wednesday, Oct 12th. Bryan Evers & Patsy Bond have graciously offered to drive the students. The students must wear regular dress code that day – no dress down. Also, remember to send money for the lunch at El Jimador. PLEASE FILL OUT AND RETURN THE PERMISSION FORMS ON MONDAY – VERY IMPORTANT!!!

WORLDWIDE DAY OF PRAYER: Children in parishes, schools, families, and Catholic organizations around the world gathered today before Jesus in Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament. This is a global day of prayer, spiritually uniting our world's children. OLOS School students participated in this call to action by praying a special rosary this morning at Church with intentions for His Holiness, Pope Francis, our Priests, and for peace in our families and in the world.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: The Christmas program is scheduled for Sun., Dec. 4th, after the 10:00 am Mass. IF YOU KNOW NOW THAT YOUR FAMILY CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE LET MR. VANDIKE KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, AS PARTS ARE BEING ASSIGNED NOW.
