PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES ARE THIS THURSDAY EVENING. Conference assignments are
in today’s folder. If you cannot make your assigned time, please contact Rosie
in the office. Please be prompt to your conference(s). Time slots are 10
minutes. If you need more time, please schedule with the teacher for a later
date. When you look at the schedule you will understand how staying over just a
minute or two affects many others, especially in the bigger classes and those
with bigger families meeting multiple deadlines.
HALLOWEEN PARTIES/ROOM PARENTS: We count on
our room parents to provide games, snacks, and drinks for our three classrooms
parties each year – Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. PLEASE NOTE: Due
to Halloween falling on a Monday, the preschoolers will enjoy a party and short
parade to the classrooms on Thursday, Oct. 27th, from 2:00 to 3:00
pm. They are invited to walk with us around town on Monday, the 31st
as well, but MUST HAVE A PARENT WITH THEM AND ALSO FILL OUT A PERMISSION FORM
FOR THEM. The “Walk” on Halloween will begin at 1:30 pm. All students are
encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes for the walk, but please no
scary or gory outfits that might frighten the younger students! Thanks to
the businesses/people that “treat” our students on the walk.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: The Christmas program is
scheduled for Sun., Dec. 4th, after the 10:00 am Mass. IF YOU KNOW
NOW THAT YOUR FAMILY CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE LET MR. VANDIKE KNOW AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE, AS PARTS ARE BEING ASSIGNED NOW.
THE JV LADY COUGARS:The girls lost
their game last night, with set scores of 25-15 (win), 22-25 (loss), and 11-20
(loss) to St. Martin’s last night. Good luck to these Lady Cougars, who will
face St. Francis Xavier, Taos, in the Catholic Bowl at 10:00 am on Saturday. If
they win, they will play again on Saturday at 7:00 pm at the Helias Fieldhouse.
We know that you will represent OLOSS well this weekend! GO LADY COUGARS!
FIRE DEPARTMENT FIELD TRIP: The entire
school will get to go across the road to visit the Cole Co. Fire Protection
District volunteer fire department on Tuesday, October 25th. October
is National Fire Prevention Month. If you have not already filled out the
permission form (sent home last Friday), another is in today’s folder. This
will be the second and final attempt for permission to attend.
BOX TOPS: Please send in all Box Tops that you may be
accumulating by Monday or Tuesday. Gina Adrian is in charge of this program,
and will be submitting those for the November 1 deadline. Thanks to Gina and to
all who clip and send the Box Tops in. Remember, they are worth 10 cents each
and can add up quickly if all participate.
VIRTUS TRAINING: OLOS Parish will have a
local Virtus training class on Mon. Nov 7 at 6:30 in the
parish meeting room (annex). This is a great opportunity for all new school
parents, anyone involved in sports, classroom parents, parents going to
Washington D. C. on the pro-life trip, and anyone working with children to
attend this required class. To register, go to diojeffcity.org, scroll down,
click on “Office of Child & Youth Protection”, and follow the prompts.
OPEN
GYM: The 6-8 boys and 7-8 girls will have open gym
each Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
