GRANDPARENTS DAY: THIS THURSDAY, September 15th,  we will be celebrating Grandparents Day here at OLOSS. All grandparents or grandparent “subs” are invited to attend Mass at 8:00 am with their grandchildren, and then come over to the gym for refreshments, bingo, and fellowship. The book fair will also be open for grandparents to shop with their grandchildren.

THANKS to Roxanne Schulte & Bryan Evers for offering to help with Grandparents’ Day on Thursday.

FANTASY NIGHT is scheduled for October 8th, and it will be here before you know it! Keep on trying to sell those tickets!  With 45 school families and 300 tickets to sell, it averages out to approximately seven per family. Some can do more, and some can’t sell as many, but every effort should be made to do your best. The “early bird” drawing for $100 or an additional ticket will be held on September 15th. ALL SOLD TICKETS SHOULD BE TURNED IN SO THAT PURCHASERS GET IN ON THE EARLY BIRD DRAWING ON THURSDAY.

HEALTH SCREENINGS FRIDAY: All students will be screened for vision, hearing, lice, height, weight, & adherence to immunization requirements. If there are any concerns, you will be notified. If you did not fill out the form for your child’s vision to be screened through the digital method, he/she will still be screened with the eye chart.

PARENTS OF PRESCHOOLERS – We realize that Friday, September 16th is not a normal day of school for your preschooler. However, if you would like your child to participate in the health checks, you may bring them by school at 9:45 for screenings. Please let Marie know if you wish to have your child screened.

MARCH FOR LIFE IN D.C. Packets for this trip were sent home recently. Please contact Nancy Kliethermes for further information. Packets with payment can be turned into the school office, and will be forwarded to Nancy & Carol Plank. The local deadline for all paperwork, fees, and insurance cards is October 1st. If you are an adult chaperone and have not attended a VIRTUS session, please let Nancy or Carol know. If several need training the diocese may hold a class here instead of having to attend in J. C.

CHEER COACH NEEDED:  We have several young girls interested in cheering for the basketball games and they are hoping to find a coach. If you or anyone you know would be interested in volunteering for this, please contact the office. All volunteers must have attended VIRTUS training.

SHIRT/HOODIE ORDERS; If you have any questions concerning any order you may have placed for school dress code shirts, spirit shirts, or hoodies, please contact Tammy Love directly in the evenings at 498-3389.

SPIRIT DAYS: This Thursday is a Spirit Day, in honor of our first HOME volleyball game. As a reminder, on Spirit Days, student may dress down only if they have on one of the official spirit T-shirts, printed by Tammy Love. Please do not let your child come to school with old reading counts shirts, or anything of that nature. We do have a few donated spirit shirts on the rack in the cafeteria in various sizes if you don’t have one yet for your child. Come by or call the office.

GO LADY COUGARS! The girls are proud to let you know that they won their three sets last week, with scores of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-19, against Trinity Lutheran. Go girls!

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED: 60 College hours preferred. Please contact Mr. Vandike for more information.

Please return your folder on MONDAY.
Enjoy the cooler weekend!
