ACHIEVEMENT TESTING IS OVER! Thanks so much to our wonderful group of Achievement test readers! They really did a great job for us this week, sometimes even staying extra hours to help in other ways. We specifically thank Dianne Goetz, Brett Morris, Debbie Schulte, Kathy Lea, and Cindy Lepper. We couldn’t do it without you!

SCHOOL PORTRAITS:  Portraits will be taken on Tuesday,
Oct. 13th. Thank you, in advance, to Emily Schulte & Robyn Silvey, who will be helping out that morning. We did have more offers, and it is much appreciated, but Wagner only asked for two volunteers. Please return your picture envelopes (sent home last week). If you would like to order, please fill out, make payment arrangements, and return to the office. EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT ORDERING, PLEASE FILL IN THE INFORMATION AT THE TOP IN STEP 1 & RETURN TO THE OFFICE. You will have the opportunity to order later, even if you do not choose to order now. If you have more than one child, and wish to make only one payment, please note specifically on each child’s envelope in whose envelope – and what grade - the payment is enclosed. Your child may dress up for pictures, but all length and sleeve requirements are still in force.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE sign-up is in today’s folder. Please fill out and return on Monday.

FANTASY NIGHT UPDATE:  We still have several tickets to sell so if you can sell any more, please contact Rosie in the office to have tickets sent home.

PRESCHOOL PARENTS/PICTURES:  If your child does not normally attend on Tuesdays, you are welcomed to talk to Marie about changing the day for this occasion, or, as an alternative, have your child here by 8:00 am for pictures. There is also a retake day scheduled for Wed., Nov. 18.

SPIRIT SHIRTS:  If you would like to donate or sell any spirit shirts that your child has outgrown, please send to the office or let us know that you have one to get rid of. Thank you!

HELIAS TRIP: The 7th & 8th graders will be visiting Helias High School on the morning of October 12, 2015, from 9:00 – 10:45 am, with lunch after at El Jimador. Remember this is a normal dress code day for them, and also remember to send $.

.HOME & SCHOOL MEETING: Mark your calendar now for the first Home & School meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at 7:00 pm. Father will be presenting this meeting and strongly encourages at least one parent from all school families to attend. There will be no homework assigned that evening, and all families represented will receive a dress down pass for their students. We will begin the evening with a CARRY IN DINNER at 7:00 and have the meeting shortly afterward. We are looking for a great turnout!

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS’ WEEK COMMITTEE:  Catholic Schools’ Week is Jan. 31-Feb. 6, 2016. We are in need of some fresh ideas for celebrating our mission of educating our children in the Catholic faith. The theme remains, “Communities of Faith, Knowledge, & Service.” We would like to form a planning committee. If you would be interested in helping out, please contact someone in the office. So far we have the following volunteers: Stacy Schrimpf and Melissa Koetting.

WELCOME BABY! Karley & Karter Lage are proud new older siblings to little baby brother, Nash Bennett. Nash was born last Friday, weighing in at 9 lbs, 3 oz. We congratulate parents Abby & Jason. Many blessings to this happy family!

COOKIE DOUGH SALESOLOS School will once again be selling cookie dough. We will be doing this to accrue the funds to send all of our teachers to the NCEA conference, which will be held in St. Louis in the Spring of 2017. This is the first time in many years that the NCEA conference is so close. We will begin sales on Thursday, Nov. 5, and end sales on Monday, Nov. 16. Cookie dough will be delivered, to be picked up by the parents, on Tuesday, December 1st.

NEW DATES ANNOUNCED:
FIRST EUCHARIST:
Sunday May, 1, 2016, 10:00 am Mass
PRESCHOOL GRADUATION:
Saturday, May 7, 2016, 5:00 pm Mass
8th GRADE GRADUATION:
Saturday, May 14, 2016, 5:00 pm Mass

COLLECTION ENVELOPES FOR THURSDAY MASS: Each Thursday, the students have the opportunity to place their offering in the collection. If you need collection envelopes at home, please let us know & some will be sent home. We also have them available in the cafeteria for student use.

LUNCH NOTICE: For students purchasing daily lunches: Students may choose a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in lieu of the main entrée if they have a note from home. They must bring a note on the day that the substitution is desired and must present it to the classroom teacher first thing in the morning. Please note that the “main entrée” is the protein item. For example, if our meal is vegetable soup with grilled cheese & string cheese, the substitution would be for the cheese sandwich & string cheese, not for the vegetable soup.

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL: We do not have a “stock supply” of medications for students. You may choose to send in a pain reliever or other types of medicine for your child. Make sure to clearly mark the container(s), and send a note giving staff permission to dispense the medication, with explicit dosage instructions and dosage cups/spoons. These will be locked up in the office. Sometimes having medicine available here for your child can mean not having to come after him/her or making a special trip to bring medications.

PRESCHOOL PARENTS:  Unless authorized through Marie, no switching of days is allowed for part-time preschoolers. The only exceptions would be for classroom parties and field trips. However, even for these days, you must contact Marie for authorization.

DEADLINE FOR FRIDAY NOTES: Thursdays, 9:00 am. All non-school related flyers need to be copied ahead of time on paper (the school cannot afford to supply paper for outside events). Upon approval by the principal, the information will then be placed in the Friday folder as a courtesy. It is not appropriate for the school to send out extraneous information that can be handled other ways. Also, if you have items for the Friday notes, please write these items up, send them in, or email them to rosie@radiowire.net (call to let me know you have emailed please). I don’t mind doing a little editing and rewording, but the bulk of the item should be outlined with details.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR:
Oct 10 – Fantasy Night
Oct 12 – 7/8 to Helias
Oct. 13 – School Portraits

Please return your folder on MONDAY!
