DRIVERS NEEDED: The 7th & 8th graders
will be visiting Helias
High School on the
morning of October 12, 2015, from 9:00 – 10:45 am, with lunch afterward. This
is a state holiday. If you would be able to transport students, please contact
Rosie in the office. There are fifteen students in 7th & 8th
grades. Nancy Kliethermes has volunteered to drive, so we need room for nine
more students.
VOLLEYBALL PRACTICE TIMES for this Monday, Sept. 7th,
will be determined after the game on Thursday evening. Please see your
coach for details.
GRANDPARENTS’
DAY: Spread the
word – on Thursday, September 17 OLOS
School will be hosting
Grandparents Day. All grandparents or grandparent “subs” are invited to share
Mass at 8:00 am with their grandchildren, and then come over to the gym for
refreshments and bingo. The book fair will also be available for grandparents
to shop.
OPTION
C LOG IN: Today parents are receiving Option C log in
usernames and passwords. Please keep these sheets and refer to them for log in.
Option C provides you online access to your child’s grades and payments, as
well as Parent Alert Options. Please see enclosed PARENT ALERT FLYER for
directions on setting up your alert preferences. If you do not, all alerts will
go by default to the home phone number and the home email address. You can opt
to have text messages delivered to your cell phones, voice messages to other
phones, and emails to other work accounts if you so wish. So check it out to
make sure you are getting the alerts where you need them. You can choose any or
all ways of communication. We want to once again remind everyone that this
convenience is brought to us through Option C by Mary’s Home Bank, a facility
of Bank of St. Elizabeth. We do so appreciate it!
HOME & SCHOOL MEETING: Mark your
calendar now for the first Home & School meeting, scheduled for Tuesday,
October 13, 2015, at 7:00 pm. Father will be presenting this meeting and
strongly encourages at least one parent from all school families to attend. There
will be no homework assigned that evening, and all families represented will
receive a dress down pass for their students. We will begin the evening with a CARRY
IN DINNER at 7:00 and have the meeting shortly afterward. We are looking for a
great turnout!
DEADLINE FOR FRIDAY NOTES: Thursdays, 9:00 am. All non-school related flyers
need to be copied ahead of time on paper (the school cannot afford to supply paper
for outside events). Upon approval by the
principal, the information will then be placed in the Friday folder as a
courtesy. It is not appropriate for the school to send out extraneous
information that can be handled other ways. Also, if you have items for the
Friday notes, please write these items up, send them in, or email them to rosie@radiowire.net (call to let me know
you have emailed please). I don’t mind doing a little editing and rewording,
but the bulk of the item should be outlined with details.
PICNIC WEEKEND!!! As we all know, this
weekend our parish hosts its annual Parish Picnic. Please pray for good weather
(cooler) for this, our biggest fundraiser of the year, and perhaps a little
rain to settle the dust beforehand (?). Please see that your children all get
to their assigned jobs and remain on duty the entire time they are scheduled.
May God bless us all and bless all of our guests on this working holiday
weekend! Happy Labor Day everyone, and we’ll see you back on TUESDAY!
