BOOK
FAIR NIGHT CHANGE: The
Reading Counts Book Fair event has been changed to Tuesday, Sept. 15, due to
scheduling with the volleyball game. We are looking forward to seeing a big
turnout that night. Come on in, enjoy the evening, earn some points, and pick
out some great books! The event will run from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
THANK YOU DRIVERS! The 7th & 8th
graders will be visiting Helias
High School on the
morning of October 12, 2015, from 9:00 – 10:45 am, with lunch after at El Jimador.
Thanks so much, in advance, to Nancy Kliethermes, Stacy Schrimpf, and Kim
Evers, for offering to drive that day. Look for permission forms to come home
next week in the Friday folder.
SHIRT & HOODIE
ORDERS: We have had a few ask about
the shirt and hoodie orders placed with the registration packets and at open
house. The orders are being worked on and part of them should be in on Monday,
and the rest filled by Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Thank you for your
patience.
HOME & SCHOOL MEETING: Mark your
calendar now for the first Home & School meeting, scheduled for Tuesday,
October 13, 2015, at 7:00 pm. Father will be presenting this meeting and
strongly encourages at least one parent from all school families to attend. There
will be no homework assigned that evening, and all families represented will
receive a dress down pass for their students. We will begin the evening with a
CARRY IN DINNER at 7:00 and have the meeting shortly afterward. We are looking
for a great turnout!
VOLLEYBALL NEWS: The JV girls WON their match last week with
set scores of 26-24 (win), 25-22 (win), & 16—25 (loss) against St. Peter, Fulton . Way to go LADY
COUGARS!
BOX TOPS: Earn 5 bonus box tops
just for signing up for emails, which save you money and give you opportunities
to earn more box tops for our school. Remember – every Box Top is worth 10
cents. See flyer enclosed in today’s folder.
GERBES:
OLOS has enrolled in the Gerbes “Community Rewards” program. This
program offers money back to our school, based on enrolled customer’s spending.
It is a really easy process. You just tie your Gerbes shopper’s card to our
school account. If you don’t have a Gerbes shopper’s card, it takes less than a
minute to get one at the store and also online. All the information needed to
complete this process is online. @ www.gerbes.com/communityrewards.
Our school code is 48253. It takes just
a couple minutes so get all your family and friends to register as well! The
school will receive quarterly payments in cash form. We will update you as we
receive those funds. This has the potential to be a huge moneymaker for the
school – the key is to get many, many people involved. Please pass the word and
thanks for supporting OLOS
School !!! On the reverse
of the Box Tops flyer in this folder you will find a report on how other
schools in the area are doing with this program, and while we are not located
in the city, we should take every opportunity to earn this “free” money.
GIRLS AGES 3RD THROUGH 8TH GRADES: The 2015
Eugene Lady Eagles Softball team invites all future Lady Eagle players to
Senior Night on Tuesday, Sept. 15th @ Eugene High School ball field.
The game begins @ 5:00 vs. Tuscumbia. Wear Eagles spirit gear! Free admission
for Future Lady Eagle Players! You can go to this and get back in time for the
Book Fair!
HEALTH SCREENINGS: The Miller County
nurses will be here on Friday, September 25th, to perform our health
screenings. The students will be checked for height, weight, vision, hearing,
lice, and immunization status. If your child was missing any immunizations or
records, you should have received notice in last week’s folder. Please comply
with the request for immunizations. The school is mandated to report noncompliance
to the Dept. of Health. Students not attending that day will have a head check
on the first day they are back.
