THANKS
to all GRANDPARENTS for attending Mass with us and for sharing the
bingo, doughnuts, and book fair with us on Thursday morning. It was so
wonderful to see such a great turnout!
BOOK
FAIR: Many, many thanks to all who came & supported
the book fair – either through the great help, buying books, participating in
activities, or all of the above. Especially, we’d like to thank those who
helped so much with the decorating. We will update you soon and let you know
how much in free books we earned.
HELIAS TRIP: The 7th & 8th
graders will be visiting Helias
High School on the
morning of October 12, 2015, from 9:00 – 10:45 am, with lunch after at El Jimador.
Permission forms can be found in today’s
folder. Please fill these out & return on Monday. Thank you!
TEST READERS: We are in need of test readers for Achievement testing week – Sept
28 – Oct. 2 – mornings. Please contact the office with your offer to help/more
info.
LUNCH BILLS are enclosed in
today’s folder, if you owe for the upcoming month. We bill in the middle of the
month for lunches for the upcoming month – 9 payments of $40 for a total of
$360 (or 9 payments of $8 for a total of $72 for reduced).
VOLLEYBALL NEWS: The JV girls lost their match last Thursday
against St. Joseph, Westphalia, with set scores of 13-25 (loss), 25-20 (win),
and 17-25 (loss). They lost their match last night against Loose Creek with
scores of 22-25 (loss), 4-25 (loss), & 14 – 25 (loss). Keep on tryin’ Lady
Cougars!
SCHOOL PORTRAITS: Portraits will be taken on Tuesday, Oct. 13th.
We are in need of two volunteers to help that morning. If you are willing,
please contact Rosie in the office.
HOME & SCHOOL MEETING: Mark your
calendar now for the first Home & School meeting, scheduled for Tuesday,
October 13, 2015, at 7:00 pm. Father will be presenting this meeting and
strongly encourages at least one parent from all school families to attend. There
will be no homework assigned that evening, and all families represented will
receive a dress down pass for their students. We will begin the evening with a
CARRY IN DINNER at 7:00 and have the meeting shortly afterward. We are looking
for a great turnout!
HEALTH SCREENINGS: The Miller County
nurses will be here on Friday, September 25th, to perform our health
screenings. The students will be checked for height, weight, vision, hearing,
lice, and immunization status. If your child was missing any immunizations or
records, you should have received notice in last week’s folder. Please comply
with the request for immunizations. The school is mandated to report noncompliance
to the Dept. of Health.
MARCH
FOR LIFE IN WASHINGTON
D. C: In January OLOS parish will once again be sending a
group of youth to D. C. for the annual March for Life. If any 7th or
8th graders would like to go (and any parent chaperones), please contact
Rosie in the office as soon as possible. More information will follow as we
receive it. Please pray over this opportunity to show your support for life.
