ENROLLMENT
FORMS: If you have not returned your 2015-16, there is
another enclosed in today’s folder. We need to know of your intention to enroll
for the next school year for classroom considerations and the ordering of books.
Please return on Monday. If the
parent delays enrollment, additional book shipping fees may apply.
LUNCH
ON MONDAY is green eggs & ham in honor of Dr. Seuss’s
birthday. If, by chance, we are cancelled on Monday, due to incoming weather,
we will enjoy green eggs and ham on our first day back next week.
FUNDRAISING
MEETING: This
Wednesday, March 4th at 6:30 pm in Mrs. Groose classroom. All are
welcome – we would love to see some new faces!
BREAKFAST
CANCELLED: Due
to cinnamon roll sales by the NCYC group, the school will not have a
fundraising breakfast on March 29th. Please support the NCYC instead
by purchasing their sweet rolls!
ST PATRICK’S DAY SOUP: The ladies had their tea, so now we invite the gentlemen of the
parish into the school! On St. Patrick’s Day,
March 17th, all gentlemen of the parish and community are invited to
join us at 12:00 noon for soup and fellowship. Spread the word! We are looking
forward to it!
BASKETBALL PLAYERS: Please return uniforms, marked with your
child’s name.
HOODIE ALERT! Have you noticed that
your child has come home without his or her hoodie? That could be due to the
fact that it is in our lost & found – which now has a total of 16 school
hoodies accumulated on the rack in the cafeteria, not to mention other nice
jackets as well. To claim, visit the rack. Parents – might be a good idea to
take a minute to put your child’s name on the tags of all coats & jackets.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Students will be attending Stations each
Friday at 2:15. If you or grandparents are attending stations, and you would
like to take your child after the service, please send a note to school. This
will enable the student to bring his/her backpack with them to church.
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION: Freshman Orientation at Cole
R-5 High School is scheduled for Wednesday,
April 22nd, at 6:00 pm in the PAC (Performing Arts Center) and the
High School gym. All incoming Freshmen and their parents need to attend this
meeting.
SNOW MAKE-UP DAY; DUE TO THE RECENT SNOW DAY, SCHOOL WILL BE IN
SESSION ON HOLY THURSDAY, APRIL 2 – BUT WE WILL BE DISMISSING AT 12:00 NOON.
EMERGENCY DRILLS: During the months of February and March, OLOS School
will be practicing scheduled and unscheduled emergency drills – including tornado,
intruder, earthquake, and bomb threat. Your younger children may have concerns
or questions, so you may take the time to discuss this with them.
ITALIAN FEAST RESULTS: To the right you will find the breakdown of
the Italian Feast event. What a wonderful fundraiser – with profits of close to
$7000!
SPELLING BEE PRACTICES. Practices will run from March 10 through April
14th, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Dates are on the calendar you are
receiving today. The Spelling Bee is April 21st.
8TH
GRADE GRADUATION: Traditionally, the 7th
grade class and parents have hosted the 8th grade graduation
reception. Thanks to Rhonda Groose, who
has volunteered to head this up. With only five students in 7th grade,
it looks like all the parents will be involved! Also, if any parent or student would like to
organize the slide show for the reception, it would be much appreciated. Please
contact the office with your offer to help. Thank you!
8th
GRADE GRADUATION DRESS CODE: Boys – dress pants, collared shirt, dress shoes, tie is
optional; Girls – dresses, no more than 2 inches above the knee, no spaghetti
straps showing (may wear shawl to cover). Students will be wearing cap/gown for
graduation and awards ceremony.
PRESCHOOL NEEDS: The
preschool classroom is in need of treasure box items and old cell phones and
cameras. The little ones love to pretend with the phones and cameras and we are
seeing the bottom of the treasure box!
BOX TOPS & BEST CHOICE: Please
send in all Box Tops tabs and Best Choice UPC’s that you have collected lately.
Gina will be submitting them on March 1st, so please send them in
this week. Thank you for your help!
