Cookie Dough order forms are due to the office by Friday, October 19th. The cookie dough order will be coming in on MONDAY, OCTOBER 29th. We are in need of volunteers to help fill the orders that afternoon and to help disperse the orders through 5:30 that evening. Please see the enclosed sign-up and return if you are able to help out. All money needs to be returned to school by Monday, November 5th. ALL COOKIE DOUGH MUST BE PICKED UP THE AFTERNOON/EVENING ON OCT. 29TH BY 5:30. WE DO NOT HAVE ROOM TO STORE IT IN OUR FREEZER. Thanks for your help with this most important fundraiser!

SCHOOL PICTURES are Thursday. This is a day when students do not have to wear dress code clothing, but may “dress up” for pictures. All length and sleeve requirements are still in force. Jeans may be worn. WE ARE IN NEED OF TWO VOLUNTEERS TO HELP OUT THAT MORNING (8:00 – 11:00ish). Volunteers will receive a $25 gift certificate to be used towards picture purchases. Please contact us if you would be willing to help.

Basketball packets are in today’s folder. All basketball players must have this completed form on file, the $20 per family sports fee paid, and their physical form on file to be able to begin practicing. There is a note on your child’s form showing what still needs to be turned in. Please return all necessary items as soon as possible.

If you are interested in coaching basketball, please contact someone in the school office. A coach’s application will be sent home for you to fill out or can be found in your child’s sports packet, sent home today. All coaches must have Virtus training. We need volunteers for the 5th & 6th boys’ team, the 7th & 8th boys’ team, and the 6/7/8 girls’ team. Billy Bond has offered to coach the older boys’ team and Aaron Wood has offered to coach the girls’ team, but we still need extra help on those teams and a coach for the younger boys’ team. Please call or write a note letting us know that you are willing to help out. The mandatory coaches’ meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 22nd at 6:00 pm. All coaches and assistant coaches must attend this meeting.

Please send in any accumulated BOX TOPS. Jeanne Buechter will be sending those in at the end of October. Thanks to all who clip and save!

Proceeds from the volleyball game on 10/4:  Gate - $121, Concessions - $112

Please pray over these opportunities for service and contact Mrs. Trachsel with your offer to volunteer. The Home & School officers are: President: Lynn Morgan, V. Pres. – Julie Kempker, Secretary – Gina Adrian. Lynn has volunteered to continue to manage Fantasy Night on an ongoing basis. Thank you, Lynn!!!

Do you have connections with any wineries? We are in need of more representation by local wineries at our Italian Feast, scheduled for Feb. 2, 2013. If you have any ideas, please contact Mrs. Groose.

The Student Council’s canned food drive is being extended to next week. They are asking each child to bring in three food items for the needy. If each classroom reaches their goal of three items per child, the classroom will earn a bonus dress down day and a special treat from the Student Council. All donated items will be forwarded to the Samaritan Center. Thanks for your support!

BEEF STICKS ARE BACK!! Students can purchase beef sticks during lunch for $1 each. If you would like a box of 30 sent home, the price is $30. All profits go to the school. Thank you for your support!

Yearbooks from the 2011-12 school year are in and if you’d like to order the cost is $10 each. Please put payment in envelope marked “yearbook”, return in this folder, and we will fill your order in next week’s Friday folder.

PRESCHOOL, KINDERGARTEN & FIRST GRADE FIELD TRIP to FISCHER FARM (across the river) will be on
October 19th, from 9:00 -10:30 am. The trip includes a maze with hay bales, a hayride, and the farm animals. The students will also all receive a big pumpkin, a small pumpkin & a gourd. Cost for adults will be $6 for all, or $1 for hayride only.

Remember – once your child earns the 75 point Reading Counts T-shirt, he/she may wear it at any time in lieu of their regular dress code collared shirt.

Reminder to parents: We do not have a “stock supply” of medications for students. You may choose to send in a pain reliever or other types of medicine for your child. Make sure to clearly mark the container(s), and send a note giving staff permission to dispense the medication, with explicit dosage instructions. Sometimes having medicine available here for your child can mean not having to come after him/her or making a special trip to bring
medications.
