EVENTS THIS WEEK!
· BOOK
FAIR/HOME & SCHOOL MEETING NIGHT: Monday, Sept. 8th. The Scholastic Book Fair will be open for
purchases from 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm. We will then have a potluck dinner at 6:00
pm, followed by our meeting at 6:15 pm. We encourage all parents to attend this
meeting. It will give you good information about our school and what’s going on
in the classrooms. You will also receive a bonus dress down pass for your child
just for attending.
· GRANDPARENTS’ DAY: Wednesday, Sept. 10th. We will begin with Mass at 8:00 am, then move over to school for fellowship, fun, photos, the Book Fair & refreshments, concluding at approximately 10:30 am. Please make sure to invite grandparents NOW so they have a heads up. We are looking forward to having all the grandparents with us that morning!
HEALTH SCREENINGS: Tuesday, Sept. 16th. We are looking for ONE MORE VOLUNTEER to help with taking height/weight and moving children through the screenings that morning. Thanks to Olivia Lepper & Emily Schulte for volunteering! Please contact the school office with your offer to help.
FANTASY NIGHT: Fantasy Night will be held on the THIRD Saturday of October – October 18th. Tickets will be available this Monday, Sept. 8th from the school office. Work lists are being prepared. If you are unable to work the shift you are assigned, please find a replacement.
AS THE WEATHER COOLS remember that students may only wear solid navy, white or khaki sweaters in the classroom or at church. No sweatshirts or hoodies except on the playground/outside.
And please remember…ALL LENGTH REQUIREMENTS still apply on Dress Down Days!
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SPONSOR TREATS? We are looking for families and/or businesses to sponsor drinks
and/or snacks for staff throughout the school year. If you would like to do
this, please contact office staff.
PRAYER GUIDES: Today each family is receiving newly revised prayer guides. You will see that prayers your child should be learning/know at his/her grade level. Please practice with your child at home and keep these for future reference.
ANDY ADRIAN – We appreciate you! Thank you so very much for doing the work on the playground area, especially in assembling the new equipment. You are awesome!
DEADLINE FOR FRIDAY NOTES: Wednesday, 9:00 am. If you have items for the Friday notes, please write these items, send them in, or email to rbeck@olosschool.org. & amberschulte@olosschool.org. All non-school related flyers need to be copied ahead of time on paper. Upon approval by the principal, the information will then be placed in the Friday folder as a courtesy.
CEMETERY LIGHTS: The school is accepting donations for the lighting of the cemetery for all Saints/All Souls Day. Please send in your donation in a marked envelope. Thank you so very much!

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL: We do not have a “stock supply” of medications for students. You may choose to send in a pain reliever or other types of medicine for your child. Make sure to clearly mark the container(s), and send a note giving staff permission to dispense the medication, with explicit dosage instructions and dosage cups/spoons. These will be locked up in the office. Sometimes having medicine available here for your child can mean not having to come after him/her or making a special trip to bring medications.
SIGN UP FOR GERBES COMMUNITY REWARDS: OLOS is enrolled in the Gerbes “Community Rewards” program. This program offers money back to our school, based on enrolled customer’s spending. It is a really easy process. You just tie your Gerbes shopper’s card to our school account. If you don’t have a Gerbes shopper’s card, it takes less than a minute to get one at the store or online. All the information needed to complete this process is online. @ www.gerbes.com/communityrewards Our school code is TU152. It takes just a couple minutes so get all your family and friends to register as well! The school will receive quarterly payments in cash form. We will update you as we receive those funds. This has the potential to be a great moneymaker for the school – the key is to get many, many people involved. No selling needed! Please pass the word to family and friends and thanks for supporting OLOS School!!!
REMINDER: NO SCHOOL MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH.
