MEET AND GREET!!! Our Lady of the Snows School is excited to host a Meet & Greet event on Monday, March 11, 2024 @ 5:30 pm! All new students, interested families, and current families, are invited to join us for a short gathering at 5:30 and a light meal at 6:00 pm. You will be able to meet your child's teacher, learn about the online admissions process, and get important information about our school. OLOS serves students from preschool age (3 years by Aug. 1, 2024) through eighth grade. Our mission is to provide a quality education and to develop the whole person in a faith-filled Catholic environment. If you have any questions, please call the school office @ 573-498-3574. We look forward to visiting with you that evening!

HOME & SCHOOL: There will be a Home & School Meeting at 6:15 pm, directly following the Meet & Greet, on March 11th. All current families and visitors are invited to stay for this meeting to see what great things are happening in our school!

GYM PAINTING: The gym is currently undergoing drywall and general wall repair, in anticipation of repainting. We are planning to paint the gym THIS week, March 12, 13, and 14. If needed, we will have additional work nights on March 18 and 19. Start time will be 5:00 pm (or after work). A light meal will be provided. To increase parent involvement, we are working with Cole R-V High School students to provide playground/cafeteria (if raining) supervision between the hours of 5:00 – 7:30 each evening, so children are welcome to come & play!  We depend on all families and parishioners to keep our facilities in good shape. Please plan on joining the “paint party”. You can log service hours towards the 20 needed for this school year. Thank you!

OLOS SCIENCE FAIR: We are so very proud of Jacob B. and Shane B., who participated in the Diocesan Science Fair at Toas last week! There were only three category awards given out on Friday – physical, earth and life science, with 24 schools represented. Shane received top honors in the physical science category! The other two winners were from a very large school. Many thanks to Mrs. Wyrick for all her expertise and guidance with the projects! The rest of the 5th through 8th graders are still working hard on getting their projects finished up. We will have them on display at the VIP Day on April 10th.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL MEMBERS NEEDED! If you are interested in serving on our Advisory Council, please let Mrs. Varner know. We have two members whose terms are up so two seats are available.

BASKETBALL UPDATE: Madelyn/St. Peters girls’ basketball team played in the PALS playoff game last Thursday night against Trinity Lutheran and after being in the lead most of the game and fighting hard, they ended up losing 28-19. Alex, Jacob, & Shane/Immanuel Lutheran boys’ basketball team also played in a playoff game on Tuesday night against St. Peter, JC, taking a loss. This ended both teams’ seasons. Win or lose, we are so proud of our COUGAR BASKETBALL PLAYERS!

SUDS FUNDRAISER SUCCESS! Thank you for everyone that purchased Show Me Suds products and to the youth and adults who helped unload and distribute the items on delivery day. If anyone did not receive a pump for the buckets, please contact the school office or Joan Doerhoff. The total updated profit on this fundraiser is $2800.00. The OLOS parish and NCYC youth greatly appreciate your continued support.

2023-2024 YEARBOOK: Yearbooks for the 23-24 school year will be available in August and must be pre-ordered. Order forms were in last week’s folder. If you need another copy, please contact the school office. The cost is $22.50 each. This will be your only chance to reserve your copy as we do not order extras.

DRIVERS NEEDED! We would like to send all of our 6th & 7th graders to the Vocations Day on Wednesday, May 1st, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Columbia. Last year, the 6th graders were unable to attend. Please, if you are able to drive, let us know as soon as possible so that we are able to make reservations for our students.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: We will be going to Stations every Friday until Easter at 2:30 pm. You are welcome to join us in prayer. If you are planning to attend, and wish to check your child out at church, please let us know ahead of time so that your child can bring his/her bookbag along to church.

FUNDRAISING DANCE & PIZZA! Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, featuring the Ryan Voss Band. Pizza Quick will also be on hand. The proceeds will be used for gym repair. Additional flyers are available in the school office.  UPDATE OF PIZZA KWIK! The time has been adjusted to serving from 11:00 am through 9:00 pm out on the parking lot, to serve your lunchtime needs as well as your dinner!

Nicholas & Isabelle are the lucky winners of the weekly Friday Folder dress down drawing!

EASTER EGG HUNT! We will have our traditional Easter Egg Hunt on Tuesday, April 2, the day we come back from Easter break. The eggs will be provided by donors again this year.

7th GRADE FAMILIES - GRADUATION INFO: It is a tradition at OLOS School for the 7th grade parents and students to sponsor the 8th grade graduation reception. While all 7th grade families are expected to help, we usually ask for one or two people to organize it. Thank you to Jeana Pringer for being the first to offer to coordinate, and to Christina Eickhoff, for her offer to help! Please consider helping Jeana coordinate graduation plans and contact us with your offer to help. (Graduation – Sat., Apr. 27 - 4:00 pm Mass)

COLE R-V FRESHMAN ORIENTATION for incoming freshman will be at Cole R-V on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the school cafeteria.

This Mass is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024, which is after our 8th graders are dismissed for the school year. 8th grade parents are encouraged to take their 8th grader.
