HOME & SCHOOL & READING COUNTS
MEETINGS THIS WEEK: Please come to the Reading Counts meeting
this Tuesday at 5:30 to help plan the end of year activities for Reading
Counts. Students work hard to earn the 200 points required for the end of year activities,
and they will be inspired to work harder when they know what they are working
for! ALL SCHOOL PARENTS should plan to attend the Home & School
meeting on Tuesday night, as well. It will begin at 6:30 pm.
Find out what’s happening at our great little school, find your child’s Christmas
program costume, and earn a bonus dress down pass for your child as well!
THANK YOU to Rick & Robyn
Silvey, who have offered to create the framework for the backdrop of our
Christmas musical. We appreciate it so much!
CHRISTMAS PARADE NEWS! The Mary’s Home Christmas Parade is planned for Friday, November 29th
at 6:30 pm. Tracey Backes has volunteered to head up the float planning, to the
theme of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. There will be a Parade Coordinating Mtg. this
Wednesday, November 13th at 5:45 pm in the Art Room. Plan on
attending this meeting if your child intends to ride the float, as props
will be specific to each child. If you cannot attend, and your child would
like to ride, please contact Tracey @ 573-291-0619 for further details. NEEDED

donating any of the following: pkg of flat paper plates, pkg. flat foam plates,
garland, big cardboard boxes, enamel spray paint – red, black, silver white.
SANTA STORE: We will once again
have the Santa Store, and it is scheduled for Friday, December 13th. If you or someone you know can help us out that day, please
call or send a note to the office. Those who have volunteered so far are Debbie
Schulte, Rose Oligschlaeger, Amy Hagenhoff, Marie Massman, LueAnn Hogg &
Cincy McKenna. Also, if you have any new or like new items to donate to the store, please send to school. We appreciate any and all
donations!
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: Mark your calendar for the OLOSS Christmas program, scheduled for Thursday,
December 5th at 6:30 pm. The alternate date will be Thursday,
December 12th. In today’s
folder you will find the student’s assigned parts for the musical. As
mentioned, school costumes will be out for parents to look through at the H
& S mtg on Tuesday evening.
GERBES COMMUNITY REWARDS: OLOSS received this quarter’s disbursement of community funding - $66.13.
SIGN UP FOR GERBES COMMUNITY REWARDS: OLOS is enrolled in the Gerbes
“Community Rewards” program. This program offers money back to our school, based
on enrolled customer’s spending. It is a really easy process. You just tie your
Gerbes shopper’s card to our school account. If you don’t have a Gerbes shopper’s
card, it takes less than a minute to get one at the store and also online. All
the information needed to complete this process is online. @ www.gerbes.com/communityrewards.
Our school code is 48253. It takes
just a couple minutes so get all your family and friends to register as well!
The school will receive quarterly payments in cash form. We will update you as we
receive those funds. This has the potential to be a huge moneymaker for the school
– the key is to get many, many people involved. Please pass the word to family
and friends and thanks for supporting OLOS School!!!
2020 ALL SCHOOL RAFFLE: New prizes featured for those who do not hunt. Tickets are now available
for sale for $50 each. Two winning tickets are drawn each month, for a total of
24 prizes awarded. If you would like to purchase or sell tickets, please
contact Greg Koetting, Cindy McKenna or Josh Vandike. We do have individual
tickets for sale at Mary’s Home Bank and the school office. For a list of
prizes/explanation see the reverse of these notes.
BOX OF JOY UPDATE: OLOS School families and families in the community gathered enough supplies
& goodies for the students to pack 38 Boxes of Joy! Special thanks to
Thrivent & Kevin Beck, who donated $250 to this project, along with all who
sponsored boxes and sent supplies.
BOX TOPS/BEST CHOICE: Please turn in your Box Tops for Education & any Best Choice UPC’s
you may have saved, as we will be making a submission this month for reimbursement.
Thanks to Joan Doerhoff, for taking care of this program.
PLEASE WELCOME NEW STUDENT, Payton, to 2nd grade at OLOS School. We are so happy
you are here!
PROPANE THAT PAYS… This is the time of year when
many people like to fill propane tanks or prepay. If you are or would like to be
a customer of Capital Energy Co, please LET THEM KNOW that you are a member of
OLOS parish (They cannot issue a donation on the customer’s behalf unless the customer
tells them they are a member of the parish.) The parish receives a percentage for
