ENROLLMENT FORMS FOR THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR were sent home a couple weeks ago. If you haven’t returned yours, another copy is in this folder. Please fill these out and return as soon as possible, as we place orders and make staffing decisions based on your response. If you know of any families who may have an interest in sending their child to OLOS School, please encourage them to contact the school office, or give us their contact information so that we may reach out to them. Families of all preschool and kindergarten age children listed in the parish baptismal records should receive information on enrollment this week. PK and K parents - mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 13th, when we will have the Preschool and Kindergarten Informational meetings, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a time to meet the teachers, orient your child to the classroom, and schedule Kindergarten testing. These meetings will take place in the respective classrooms. If you need more information, please don’t hesitate to call.

STUDENT COUNCIL - please note – the meeting has been changed from Monday to Wednesday, March 7th, from 3-4 pm. Oliver is in charge of drinks, and Ethan is in charge of snacks.

BILLINGS: The monthly preschool and extended care bills can be found in today’s folder. As we end out our third quarter, please pay close attention to any fees owed, so that there are no issues at the end of the school year with overdue payments.

MASS CHANGE: We will have Mass on Monday, March 19th (the feast of St. Joseph), and we will not have Mass on Thursday, March 22nd. 2nd grade will do the ministry on the 19th.

PHOTOGRAPHER NEEDED: Traditionally, the 8th graders take a day out in April for picture taking. We are looking for a parent or someone willing to take the pictures. Please let Mrs. Pleus or Rosie know if you would be willing to help out, along with some dates that will work for your schedule. Thanks!

7TH GRADE PARENTS: Just a reminder that we are responsible for hosting the 8th grade graduation reception. As the time draws closer, we will meet and do the planning together.

GRADUATION DRESS CODE: Girls – dresses, no more than two inches above the knee, no spaghetti straps showing (may wear shawl to cover). Students will be wearing cap/gown through Mass and throughout the awards ceremony and for pictures.

EASTER EGG HUNT: We will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday, March 28th. Each child in grades PK – 6th should bring in one dozen candy-filled eggs to the classroom, marked with your child’s name. Please wait until Monday, March 26 before sending those in. The 7th & 8th graders will be hiding the eggs for the classes, so you may remember them with some treats as well. Candy that doesn’t melt easily is best. We also have students with peanut allergies, so we ask that no peanut product be sent. Thanks so much!

PRESCHOOL GRADUATION: The preschool graduation will be in conjunction with the awards ceremony this year, which is tentatively scheduled for May 17th at 9:30 am.

FINAL DAY OF SCHOOL (tentatively scheduled for May 17) We will have Mass (or a prayer service) at 8:00 am, have the awards ceremony & preschool graduation, beginning at 9:30 am, and dismiss at 11:00 am. THERE WILL BE NO LUNCH SERVED AND NO EXTENDED CARE OFFERED IN THE AFTERNOON.

CSW STUDENT DAY will be rescheduled. We are waiting to see if we can get someone to oversee the bowling alley so that all students may bowl. We are also still planning on getting the 5th & 6th graders out in the community to deliver treats. More information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.

GUN RAFFLE: There are still tickets available, and will be available until all are sold. Of course, the sooner the ticket is purchased, the more chances you have to win. There are still 10 chances to win (2 per month). Next drawing will be March 15th, at the School Board meeting. Tickets are available through Mr. V at the school office, Greg Koetting, or Jay Harms. Thank you for your support.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS for school children will be on Tuesday afternoons this Lent, at 2:15 pm.

TAX INFORMAION: If you need record of payments for 2017 tax purposes for preschool or extended care, you may find record of all payments on Option C. If your tax preparer needs our Employer ID #, it is 44-0546364. If you have any difficulty finding the information you need, you may contact Rosie in the office.

SNOW DAY/FLU DAY MAKE-UP: Due to recent school closings, SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION ON FRIDAY, MARCH 9TH AND TUES., APRIL 3RD.

BASKETBALL PLAYERS – please return your uniforms.

RICE BOWL: Please use it as a tool in your household to enhance your family Lenten experience. There is a Lenten calendar inside that may be used to help your family pray. You may return the Rice Bowls to the vestibule or school office after Easter, with any money that you may have saved.
