STUDENT DAY: THIS MONDAY! We will celebrate our final (delayed!) day of CSW 2018 – Student Day – on Monday, March 19th. We will be bowling and enjoying movies and fun activities throughout the day. This will be a dress down day. We will have Mass for the Feast of St. Joseph at 8:00 am. The school children will not have Mass on Thursday.

READING COUNTS ends Tuesday, April 24th. Your child must have reached 200 points by this date in order to attend the R. C. trip. The date for the trip is tentatively set for Tuesday, May 8th. In addition to the trip, your child receives one entrance into the class drawing for a gift card for every 25 points over 200 that they earn.

IMPROMPTU DRILLS: OLOSS will be having several emergency drills throughout the next weeks. If your child mentions them (or even if they don’t), you may take the opportunity to discuss the subject. We have tornado, fire, earthquake, and intruder/lockdown drills.

EASTER EGG HUNT: We will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday, March 28th. Each child in grades PK – 6th should bring in one dozen candy-filled eggs to the classroom, marked with your child’s name. Please wait until Monday, March 26 before sending those in. The 7th & 8th graders will be hiding the eggs for the classes, so you may remember them with some treats as well. Candy that doesn’t melt easily is best. We also have students with peanut allergies, so we ask that no peanut product be sent. Thanks so much!
BABY CHICKS! In the days following Easter, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders will have incubators in their classrooms, to witness first-hand, the hatching of baby chicks. This programs is offered to our classrooms each year through the Miller County Extension Office, and is a big hit with the students!

EMAIL CHANGE: Rosie’s email has been changed to olosschoolsecretary@gmail.com., effective immediately.

PHOTOGRAPHER NEEDED: Traditionally, the 8th graders take a day out in April for picture taking. We are looking for a parent or someone willing to take the pictures. Please let Mrs. Pleus or Rosie know if you would be willing to help out, along with some dates that will work for your schedule. Thanks!
