ENROLLMENT FORMS FOR THE 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR are in today’s folder. Please fill these out and return as soon as possible, as we place orders and make staffing decisions based on your response. If you know of any families who may have an interest in sending their child to OLOS School, please encourage them to contact the school office, or give us their contact information so that we may reach out to them. Families of all preschool and kindergarten age children listed in the parish baptismal records should receive information on enrollment this week. PK and K parents - mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 13th, when we will have the Preschool and Kindergarten Informational meetings, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a time to meet the teachers, orient your child to the classroom, and schedule Kindergarten testing. These meetings will take place in the respective classrooms. If you need more information, please don’t hesitate to call.

PROGRESS REPORTS were sent home last week. If you have not already done so, please sign & return them on Monday. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher.

CSW STUDENT DAY will be rescheduled. We are waiting to see if we can get someone to oversee the bowling alley so that all students may bowl. We are also still planning on getting the 5th & 6th graders out in the community to deliver treats. More information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.

TAX INFORMAION: If you need record of payments for 2017 tax purposes for preschool or extended care, you may find record of all payments on Option C. If your tax preparer needs our Employer ID #, it is 44-0546364. If you have any difficulty finding the information you need, you may contact Rosie in the office.

GERBES COMMUNITY REWARDS: Funds recently received - $34.38. Thanks to the five families who designated OLOSS as recipients of their shopping rewards.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS for school children will be on Tuesday afternoons this Lent, at 2:15, beginning on Feb. 20th. Also, on Feb. 20, Father Greg will hear Confessions – grades 2-8.

MENU NOTICE: On Wed., Feb. 21st, the menu will stay the same, except for the dessert. Instead of pudding, we will have chocolate cookies, to celebrate the K/1 choice for CSW, when we were out for flu.

WELCOME NEW BABY! We are so excited to congratulate Karley, Karter, and Ryder Lage, on the birth of their new baby sister, Emma Rose. Emma was born on Friday, Feb. 9th, and joins happy parents Abby & Jason Lage, and brother Nash at home. Please keep the Lage family in your prayers, as they proudly welcome Emma into their family.

GUN RAFFLE: There are still tickets available, and will be available until all are sold. Of course, the sooner the ticket is purchased, the more chances you have to win. There are still 10 chances to win (2 per month). Next drawing will be March 15th, at the School Board meeting. Tickets are available through Mr. V at the school office, Greg Koetting, or Jay Harms. Thank you for your support.

SNOW DAY/FLU DAY MAKE-UP: Due to recent school closings, SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH, FRIDAY, MARCH 9TH, AND TUESDAY, APRIL 3RD. If we miss another day, it will be made up as a half day on Holy Thursday, March 29th.

RICE BOWL: Please use it as a tool in your household to enhance your family Lenten experience. There is a Lenten calendar inside that may be used to help your family pray. You may return the Rice Bowls to the vestibule or school office after Easter, with any money that you may have saved.

NEXT BOX TOP SUBMISSION will be at the end of February. Please keep saving Box Tops and send them in before that time.

SIX FLAGS READ TO SUCCEED: Grades K-6, please return your reading log to the classroom teacher by February 23rd.

8TH GRADE RETREAT: Students must bring a sack lunch and drink. They may wear jeans (nice), but we are asking that they wear their school spirit shirts. Students will leave promptly at 7:45 and may return after the school day is over (3:30ish?). Please make arrangements for pick-up, if necessary. Also, don’t forget to send along a little money, so the kids can stop for an ice-cream on the way home!

PARISH PENANCE SERVICE this Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 7:00 pm. No homework will be assigned so that all families may attend this service.

DUE TO THE HIGH RISK OF FLU this year, and in our effort to contain transmission, any student exhibiting signs of the flu, which include, but is not limited to:  fever, chills, nonproductive cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle and body aches, headache and fatigue, and in some cases, vomiting & diarrhea, will be sent to the office and parents called for pick up. IF YOUR CHILD EXHIBITS ANY OF THESE SIGNS AT HOME – NO MATTER HOW MILD – PLEASE KEEP THEM HOME AS A PRECAUTION. If your child has the flu, doctors generally recommend that they do not return to school for one week.

PLEASE RETURN YOUR FOLDER ON MONDAY!
