8TH GRADERS/SLIDE SHOW: If you have not already done so, please send in ten pictures – from baby on up, marked and in order for the graduation slide show. All should be sent in by April 15th.

OLOS SCHOOL will be updating our SCHOOL WELLNESS POLICY this spring. Anyone interested in helping with this process, please call the school office. Thank you!

SPELLING BEE: The annual Spelling Bee is set for this Tuesday, April 12th at St. Martin The tentative schedule is as follows:
TIME: 8:45 A M to around 2:00 P M
PLACE: St. Martin Catholic School

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
8:45-9:00 Registration
9:00-9:10 Opening remarks
9:10-10:00 4th Grade Competition
10:00- 10:50 5th Grade Competition
10:50- 11:40 -6th Grade Competition
11:40-12:10 Lunch
12:15- 1:05 -7th Grade Competition
1:05-1:55 - 8th Grade Competition
2:00-2:15 Award Presentation

FEES OWED: FINAL LUNCH BILLINGS WILL BE SENT OUT NEXT WEEK. As we approach the end of the year, we would like to remind all families that final grade cards will only be issued to students whose fees are paid in full. This includes, but is not limited to, sustaining fees, lost library book fees, preschool &/or extended care fees, school support/tithing, lunch fees, etc.

READING COUNTS ends Friday, April 22nd. This will be the last day for points. Your child must have 200 points to attend the R. C. field trip at the end of the year. Plans are being made now for this trip and more details will be provided as soon as possible. Tentative date for this trip is Friday, May 6th.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: The tentative last day of school is set for Wednesday, May 18th, dismissing at 12:00 noon, with the Awards ceremony set for 9:30 am. THERE WILL NO EXTENDED CARE SERVICES AVAILABLE THAT AFTERNOON.

GOLF TOURNAMENT NEWS:  The annual OLOSS Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 14th at Redfield Golf Course in Eugene. More information is in today’s folder. Get the word out now and try to get people signed up to play and sponsor holes for this event!

THE PREGNANCY HELP CENTER is sponsoring a 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, April 30, at Memorial Park.  This event includes live entertainment, prizes for dressing as a Super Hero, fund raising awards, and race trophies and medals.  Registration begins at 8:30 and the race starts at 9:00 a.m.  Preregister by April 18 at www.friendsofphc.org for a free t-shirt.  

EARTH DAY: Earth Day is celebrated on April 22. There will be activities at the Capitol geared toward 5th graders, but all are welcome. In this light, we are asking for drivers for our 5th and 6th grade to be able to attend. This would be for 11 students. Please contact the office with your offer to drive. If we can get the drivers, we will send the students. Thanks!
