CATHOLIC SCHOOLS’ WEEK WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!  We had great participation in all aspects of the week. The Mass and carry in dinner were so nice, and the whole week was fun and busy! Though we can’t thank all individually, there is one person who we want to recognize as she finishes out her service to OLOS School. Stacey Schrimpf has been and continues to be a tremendous force in planning and carrying out fundraisers and school activities. Her son is graduating this year and they will both be missed! Stacy has put in countless hours and donated so many things – way too much to count.  We do so appreciate all you’ve done! We also want  to extend our thanks to all who helped in any way – the planning, helping, sending food, treats, driving, and overseeing every detail of the week. A great week for an awesome LITTLE school!

ITALIAN FEAST: Set up tonight @ 6:30. All help needed & appreciated. If you have not yet signed up to work tomorrow night, please see or contact Nancy in the kitchen. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE – Unless otherwise noted, ALL FIRST SHIFT WORKERS SHOULD COME IN AT 4:00 PM. The schedule we sent out last week said 3:00, but 4:00 will give plenty of time to get ready to serve. Thank you!

GOLF TOURNAMENT NEWS:  The annual OLOSS Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 14th at Redfield Golf Course in Eugene. Registration will begin at 7:00 am with an 8:00 am tee-time. More information will be coming in the near future, but mark your calendar now for this important fundraiser for our school & parish.

SNOW DAY:  Due to the recent snow day, school WILL BE IN SESSION on President’s Day, Monday, February 15th.

BOX TOPS:  Gina will be sending in our next batch of Box Tops at the end of February. Please clip & send in! Thank you!

RICE BOWLS: Today you are receiving a Lenten Rice Bowl. The Rice Bowl can be used in the home as a powerful tool in your family’s Lenten journey. Your children will also be watching a DVD about the Rice Bowl and the work that Catholic Relief Services does in their religion classes. For Lent, you may use these tools to:
PRAY – using the daily reflections on the calendar provided in the bowl.
FAST – with the suggested weekly meatless meals, and learn about people around the world.
GIVE – your Lenten sacrifices to your CRS Rice Bowl.
After Easter, you may turn your Rice Bowl in to the school or bring it to church to turn in. Thank you!

8TH GRADE RETREAT:  Parents of 8th graders, please remember that your child needs to be at school no later than 7:30 am on Thursday morning. If your child opted to bring his/her lunch, please remember that and a drink as well. All students are to wear their spirit shirts and jeans – NO STRETCH PANTS!! Students will also need money for a stop at Central Dairy. Stacy Schrimpf will be driving and supervising our students that day and we thank her for it!

BASKETBALL UPDATE:  The JV Boys lost a close game last night against St. Joe, Westphalia, with a score of 34-29. The girls lost against St. George, Linn, with a final score of 24-10. Keep on trying, Cougars!
CATHOLIC BOWL INFORMATION MAY BE FOUND IN TODAY’S FOLDER.

PRO-LIFE PETITION: Missourians have the opportunity to shape history on behalf of our tiniest citizens. It's time to STOP exploiting women and babies for profit and demand Planned Parenthood's licenses revoked in Missouri, once and for all. Enclosed in today’s folder is a petition to Attorney General Koster, to uphold our state law. Please sign & return BY MONDAY and we will send them on. Also launch the link to get others involved. Together we can make Missouri an abortion-free state. Demand that Missouri Lawmakers and Authorities stand behind women and the right to life. Missouri is only 1 surgical abortion facility away from becoming abortion-free!
