HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS to our eleven eighth graders who are graduating this Saturday evening at the 5:00 pm Mass. The eleven are: Bryce Backes, Zachary Bond, Rachel Buechter, Ariana Evers, Noah Evers, Ashley Kauffman, Erin Love, Kalie Massman, Gabrielle Morff, Sara Stansbury, and Grant Stockton. It seems like yesterday when this group of students started here at OLOS School, and look where they are now! We will genuinely miss all of you! We wish you the very best in high school. Remember where you came from, and carry your faith with you as you continue your faith filled journey into high school and beyond. God bless you all!

WE HAVE MORE “GRADUATES” TO BE PROUD OF!! Our little preschoolers are also celebrating graduation this weekend at the 10:00 am Mass. We congratulate Alyssa Evers, Camden Kempker, Leah Koetting, Trenton Lage, Adam Schulte, Braden Schulte, Gracie Silvey, Rylee Vandike, Sam Wilson & Avery Wood. Way to go, preschoolers!

BOX TOPS: We just received $186.40 in funds from the Box Tops for Education program. This is our semi-annual remittance. Those ten cents add up! Thanks to all who save and send in. We especially want to thank Jeanne Buechter and girls for taking care of this program for many years. Now Jeanne’s kids are all moving on and we are blessed to have Gina Adrian taking over this program. Thanks so much to Jeanne and girls for their years of service. We will miss you!

FIELD DAY – WEDNESDAY:  This is a dress down day but all length and sleeve requirements are still in force. Students can wear swimsuits under their regular clothes for water games later in the day. WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS FOR THE AFTERNOON. IF YOU CAN HELP OUT, PLEASE CONTACT THE SCHOOL OFFICE. Thank you!

FRESHMAN ORIENTATION at Cole R-V is scheduled for May 12th at 6:00 pm, Location: TBA.

CONGRATULATIONS to the newly elected School Board Advisory Board members. The two serving a three year term are Mark Adrian & Kim Evers. The two serving a two year term are Aaron Wood and Missy Beck. Brittany Schulte and Lynn Morgan remain on the Board for one more year. Thanks to all who agreed to run for this election.

EXTENDED CARE SERVICES (before and after school) will be available on May 15th, the final day of school. Please send in a note to the office if you plan on using Extended Care on the final day of school so that we know how many staff will be needed for supervision that afternoon. Thank you!

MORE GARDENING HELP NEEDED:  Each year we ask families to volunteer to do weekly watering and weeding around the two school buildings. If we get enough, most families would only have to take one week. Please send a note/email/call to the office with your offer to help out with this – no green thumb needed! So far we have offers from Lynn Morgan, Lori Evers, Greg & Tammy Love, Marie Massman & Bryan & Stacey Evers.

QUILT RAFFLE:  Alma Koetting donated a quilt to use as a fundraiser for the school wherever it is most needed. If you would like to buy raffle tickets or want to sell any, please contact the office and we will send you some booklets. They are $1 each or 6 for $5. This is an OPTIONAL fundraiser. The quilt is queen sized and the colors are blue & rose. It is BEAUTIFUL! We will draw for the quilt on the last day of school at the awards ceremony.

SODA TABS: The Student Council is collecting soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Please begin saving these for this most worthy cause. You may send them into the office anytime. Thank you!

HELIAS UNIFORM RESALE:  Helias Parent’s Club is hosting a uniform resale on Saturday, May 17, 2014 featuring Helias uniform clothing and appropriate dress code pants.  The sale will be from 8:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Commons of Helias Catholic High School.  If you are interested in putting clothes on the sale, see the Daily Bulletin on the Helias Catholic website for further details.
