GOOD LUCK, GIRLS!

COOKIE DOUGH AND PASTRY ORDERS WILL BE DELIVERED THIS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26TH. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR ORDERS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 2:00 PM AND 5:30 PM. We are still asking for volunteers to help sort and distribute the cookie dough. Let us know if you can help. Thanks!

The school will host its annual Halloween Walk on Monday, October 31st, with stops at the Senior Villa, possibly the Corner Market, the Credit Union, & Mary’s Home Bank. PLEASE FIND, FILL OUT AND RETURN THE PERMISSION FORM IN TODAY’S FOLDER. ALL CHILDREN MAY BE LISTED ON ONE FORM. WE WILL NOT SEEK ANY FORMS THAT ARE NOT TURNED IN ON TIME. ANY CHILD WHO DOES NOT HAVE A FORM TURNED IN WILL REMAIN IN THE SCHOOL BUILDING. Traditionally, students dress up in their costumes for this walk and the parties – but please no scary or rude costumes.

ROOM PARENTS:  We are counting on you to make the Halloween parties a success. Room parents are generally responsible for assigning people to bring snacks & drinks and for providing any games or entertainment for the students. The “Walk” usually takes 20-30 minutes – so plan on about an hour for parties. We have enclosed a copy of the room parent list for your convenience. Thanks so much for your help in making the parties a success!

New “Spirit Shirt” order forms are in today’s folder. If you are interested, your order must be returned by Monday, October 31st.

School pictures were taken this week. If you ordered, you will be receiving your packets in the very near future. If, when you receive your packet, you are not satisfied, please return the packet intact to school (do not cut or damage). Retakes won’t be until sometime in the first part of December, but we would like to know ahead of time whose will need to be retaken.

Mrs. Groose is selling beef sticks at lunch time each day. They are $1 each. Proceeds benefit OLOS School.  Thanks for your support!

Needed: Speech Judge for Speech Meet on November 5th, which will be held in Jefferson City. Please contact Mrs. Trachsel with your offer to help!

Parents of children bringing lunches: If sending items that need to be heated, please make sure your child knows how to use the microwave or consider sending items that don’t need heated, especially for the very young. The teachers in the younger grades are spending so much time some days heating up lunches that they are not getting adequate time to eat themselves. Also, if your child’s lunch requires using fork or spoon, please provide those items with the lunch.

Whole Community Catechesis & Dinner: This Wednesday, October 26th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This program will cover upcoming changes in the liturgy, and is for the entire family. There will be a carry-in meal and each family is asked to bring a dish. We encourage all OLOS families to attend this most important gathering.

OLOS School received $2000 from the Orscheln Industries Foundation. This grant can be used for smart boards, computers, books, or anything that we need to help the quality of the education the children receive. Please pray for the intentions of this generous foundation.

OPTION C BILLING QUESTIONS: When looking for your child’s lunch balance, login to Option C (school code 8085). Go to Office, click on Billing. At the top you have options. For lunch you will need to show “lunch transactions”, change the month to “all”. That will show you the total owed/overpaid for lunches. If you then click on each child’s name (if you have more than one in school), it breaks down into how much is owed for each child. The balance is the 2nd from the last line – statement balance (which may or may not agree with the bottom line – overall balance – depending on if you have other bills due or prepaid (like extended care, preschool, book fees, etc. When sending in lunch checks (if you have more than one child in school), please specify the amount you would like credited to EACH child’s account.

OLOS Parish will be sponsoring a Stewardship Fair after the Masses on the weekend of October 29th and 30th. OLOS School will play an integral part of this stewardship fair. Information will be available from OLOS School, OLOS School Advisory Board, OLOS Home & School Association, OLOS Fundraising Committee, OLOS School Sports, OLOS Preschool and OLOS School Sacraments. Mrs. Trachsel will be in contact with a member of each organization to coordinate this effort. Make plans now to support and attend this fair. Refreshments will also be served.

Lynn Kempker has volunteered to coordinate efforts to enter a float in this year’s Eldon Christmas parade. The theme this year is “A Christmas Story”. The date is Saturday, November 19th, 2011. If you would be interested in helping to get a float ready, to be sponsored by Our Lady of the Snows School, please contact the school office or Lynn. In previous years, OLOS School has had great success with this event, and it gets our school and its mission out in the “public eye” – great publicity!

Needed:  Home and School officer for the position of V. President. Please contact Mrs.Trachsel if you are interested in serving in this position.

CHEER COACH NEEDED: Would you consider sharing of your time and talent to coach the cheer team this year? If you are willing, please contact someone in the office. Thanks!

Fundraising News: If you’re cleaning out things and find any items you no longer need that might make good “gifts” for the Santa Store, collect them up and send them in. We can also use any donation of tape, bows, tags, gift bags, and wrapping paper for the store. We will also be having the Rada cutlery and That’s My Pan fundraisers this year, with kickoff on November 4th. Thanks for all your help!

Have a great weekend! Remember to return your Friday Folder on Monday. Thank you!
