COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY: On Monday we will have our 2nd Community Service Day” for the school year. Our theme this month is our veterans. Students will be doing projects showing their appreciation & esteem for those who have or are currently serving in the military. Students may dress down but may only do so if they wear the school provided “Our Lady of the Snow is the Heart & Soul of Mary’s Home” or “Heart” shirt. Preschoolers will celebrate their CS Day on Tuesday.
VETERANS’ DAY CELEBRATION: Please invite all retired and active-duty military & spouses/families to our celebration on Friday, November 11th at 9:00 am! We will be placing flags on veterans’ graves and having refreshments in the cafeteria, along with other activities. Please return sign-up sheet which was sent home last week.
MARY’S HOME CHRISTMAS PARADE: There was a planning meeting this week so more information will be forthcoming, but for right now mark the date so that your child can ride the float. We will also need donations of candy to throw, so you might be looking for Halloween clearances. The annual parade is on Friday, November 25th and the theme is “Christmas Traditions”.
VOLUNTEER MEAL: Invitations to the volunteer Thanksgiving meal, scheduled for this Thursday, were sent out last week to individuals Please let us know by Monday if you will be able to make it so that we know how much food to prepare. If we don’t hear from you, we will assume you are not coming. Thank you!
PLAYGROUND WORKDAY SET: There will be a big work day TOMORROW, Saturday, 11/5/22, to finish the younger children's playground area. Tasks include spreading the rest of the base rock, laying down the weed barrier, spreading and compacting the wood chips, and installing the plastic edging. Andy Adrian and Cory Herigon will have the needed machines and dump trailers on hand, but we need many willing hands with shovels, rakes and come-alongs for spreading the material. Planned start time is 8:00 AM. If we get enough help we should be able to finish the project! Thank you for your donation of time & talent!
SPORTS REMINDER: As we begin practicing for the upcoming basketball (& cheer) season, please remember that your child must be academically eligible to participate, so please check your child’s grades periodically on your family portal.
