HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! We are half way through the school year already! Many blessings to you this new year of 2016!

GRADE CARDS are enclosed in today’s folder. Please look over, sign, and return. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher.

SHILOH DANCE FUNDRAISER: Next Saturday, January 16th. Please find enclosed a sign up for help for this fundraiser. All help is needed and appreciated. Please return in folder on Monday. Thank you!

BOX TOPS:  We just received $239 in earnings from the last submission of Box Tops (Mar. 15 – Nov. 15). That’s pretty good for earning 10 cents per box top. If you do not already participate, we encourage you to do so, because every little bit helps! Gina will be sending in our next batch of Box Tops at the end of February. Please clip & send in! Many thanks to Gina & Macy Adrian, who are in charge of this fundraiser. We appreciate you both very much!

SANTA STORE:  As you are putting away your Christmas wrappings, if you notice you have extra gift bags, we could use any you would like to donate for next year’s Santa Store. You may send those in anytime.

8TH GRADE RETREAT:  The 8th graders will be on retreat in Folk on Thursday, February 11th. Stacy Schrimpf asked about and offered to drive & chaperone our five 8th graders to the retreat. She has room for one additional parent, so if anyone would like to go along, contact Stacy or someone in the office.

PROCEEDS FROM COOKIE DOUGH: Net Profit - $3870.50. Last call – we still have a few tubs left if anyone needs anymore.

ITALIAN FEAST: Please keep trying to sell dinner tickets and hang flyers! If you need additional tickets, please contact the office. All money & unsold tickets need to be turned into the office by January 25th, 2015.

SILENT AUCTION CLASS BASKETS: Please be on the lookout for Silent Auction items.  Each family is asked to donate to their class basket and either donate an item per family or get a donation from a local business or crafty friend. You can also go together with other school families and donate bigger items as well.  Together we can make sure we continue to live up to our reputation for having an AWESOME silent auction at our Italian Feast! Classroom themes are as follows:
PK –         “Game Night/Family Fun Night”
K –           “Anything Dr. Suess”
1/2 –       “Disney”
3/4 –       “Take me out to the Ballgame – Cardinals!”
5/6  -      “Movie Night”
7/8 -       “Snack Attack – Candy basket”

READING COUNTS SHIRTS may be worn any day in lieu of the normal dress code shirt.

BASKETBALL UPDATE:  Both the girls & boys lost their games last night, but all players put forth good effort. Keep on tryin’ Cougars!

HAVE A GREAT WINTER WEEKEND!

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL: We do not have a “stock supply” of medications for students. You may choose to send in a pain reliever or other types of medicine for your child. Make sure to clearly mark the container(s), and send a note giving staff permission to dispense the medication, with explicit dosage instructions and dosage cups/spoons. These will be locked up in the office. Sometimes having medicine available here for your child can mean not having to come after him/her or making a special trip to bring medications.

DEADLINE FOR FRIDAY NOTES: Thursdays, 9:00 am. All non-school related flyers need to be copied ahead of time on paper (the school cannot afford to supply paper for outside events). Upon approval by the principal, the information will then be placed in the Friday folder as a courtesy. It is not appropriate for the school to send out extraneous information that can be handled other ways. Also, if you have items for the Friday notes, please write these items up, send them in, or email them to rosie@radiowire.net (call to let me know you have emailed please). I don’t mind doing a little editing and rewording, but the bulk of the item should be outlined with details.
